The trailer takes you back to 1967 showcasing the events that occured after 1962 Indo-China war. The film is set in 1967 when Indian soldiers had to protect Nathula Pass in Sikkim from China. The trailer also gives glimpses of female actors Esha Gupta, Sonal Chauhan, Deepika Kakar, Monica Gill who reprise the typical roles of being left behind when the actor leave out to the borders.

Aamir has been known to bring one of the best stories to the big screen that bring him to the box office's top spot. When asked what is his method to choosing the best stories he said, "This is something people always credit me for, because so many of my films have been successful. This is a coincidence to certain extent that so many of them have been successful . I am not taking credit away from all the people who have worked on these film but the fact is that I haven't written a stories for any of those films."

The actor went on to credit the story writers and creators and said that it is important the story is organic and not written for him.

"The story starts from a writer's mind. Whether it was Raju working on 'PK' or '3 idiots', Ashutosh wrote 'Lagan', or Amole Gupte created 'Taare Zameen Par' all these films have started from one person's mind. And the thought itself is so beautiful and they grew organically. I strongly believe that the process of writing a story has to be organic. I have worked on very few films that have been written for me. I have worked on scripts written for me under pressure when I couldn't say no to that person."

#AamirKhan says he feel responsible for the film's profit or loss and would not allow the producer to shoulder the responsibility alone.

The 'Taare Zameen Par' actor said it the best business model for an actor to take part of producers responsibility, "Once I have decided that I like the script and want to work on it I take the responsibility that it will not lead to the producers loss. I dont allow the producer to shoulder the responsibility alone. And that is a very important aspect. I think this is the best business model that the star takes part of the responsibility, even practically. Till date no producer I have worked with has paced any losses so then would to work with me more.":

The actor confessed he does not look at it as a business strategy but, "When I am making a film people let me take charge make decisions, they don't question me. When they place that faith in me then how can I let them down. It becomes my responsibility. When 'Lagaan' was financed it was my responsibility. 'Lagaan' was one of the most expensive films of the time and it was also breaking many norms of mainstream Indian cinema at that time."
