Auto driver's son gets Bieber's concert ticket for free

A Rs. 75,000 ticket of singer #JustinBiebers concert in India as part of his #Purpose_World_Tour has been given free to a Mumbai-based auto-rickshaw drivers son, who is a fan of the American pop star.

The golden ticket gives people access to merchandise and backstage access. 

The auto-rickshaw driver, 50, has a 22-year-old son, who has been following Bieber's music for a while. He had dropped messages on the official page of the tour talking about his love for Bieber's music while hoping to receive a reply.

His wish has been fulfilled by the organisers -- White Fox India. 

"Yes it's true, we have given the golden ticket to an ardent fan of Justin Bieber who didn't have the means to afford the tickets," Arjun Jain, the man behind the tour, said in a statement.

'Bhoomi' to release on September 22

Actor Sanjay Dutt's comeback film #Bhoomi, directed by Omung Kumar, will release on September 22.

The film was earlier scheduled to release on August 4. However, the makers have pushed back the release date to September 22.

The new release date was confirmed by producers Bhushan Kumar and Sandeep Singh in a joint statement.

"Sanjay has given his best performance till date and I am glad that we are increasing the anticipation for the audiences," director Omung Kumar said.

Sanjay along with the cast and crew of the film is currently shooting for the climax here. He earlier shot in Agra and Chambal.

Saiyami Kher receives Dadasaheb Phalke award

I have broken all norms, plan to break more: Gauhar

Bollywood actress and Big Boss winner #GauharKhan on Thursday said she was advised not to do a lot of things but she has "broken all the norms and plans to break even more".

"People told me not to do Big Boss, I did it and won the show. Then I was told that if in my first film I am not opposite Ranbir Kapoor I should not do the film, I did that and my character was the most remembered female character. 

"Then people told me that if I do only songs I will be tagged as an item girl but I have broken all the norms... I plan to break still more," said Gauhar, who was speaking at a press conference on the success of her film "Begum Jaan" on Thursday.

"If you can dream it you can achieve it, if you can believe it you can achieve it," Gauhar added further.

Gauhar Khan's "Begum Jaan", which is a period drama film, written and directed by National Award-winning director Srijit Mukherji, was released on April 14 and got a good response from the audience. 

The movie stars Vidya Balan in the lead role.

"I am a very big fan of Vidya Balan and I got a compliment that even in her presence, my role was distinct, I feel very humbled," Gauhar said.

Disney India on Thursday released a promotional video of the Hollywood film with Hindi retro twist with Bappi Lahiri's popular song "Jhoom jhoom jhoom baba". 

The actors said the team came up with the idea of a ‘desi' version of the trailer as a special gift to the Indian fans. 

In the video, the actors are saying: "Namaste India, I'm Dave Bautista and I'm Zoe Saldana and here's something special from the Guardians of the Galaxy, just for you. Obviously!"

"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" is written and directed by James Gunn, and stars Chris Pratt, Saldana and Bautista. It also features the voices of actors like Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper.

Raveena, who was in the capital on Thursday to promote her new film "Maatr", was asked about singer Sonu Nigam's comments demanding a ban on loudspeakers during azaan.

After his comments, Sonu shaved his head and apologised earlier this week.

"If we look at the current scenario of our country -- whether you look at people of any religion -- fanaticism is wrong. We have always lived as a secular and strong country and we should be allowed to do so," Raveena told reporters here.

"If Diwali firecrackers are being controlled, I promote that. But it doesn't mean I am becoming communal. It depends on each person's individual thinking what they think and what they find.

Well-known Marathi film industry personalities Vikram Gokhale and Arun Nalawade have been named for the coveted V. Shantaram Lifetime Achievement and V. Shantaram Special Contribution annual awards, he added.

Both the lifetime achievement awards carry a citation and cash of Rs 500,000 each, while both the special contribution awards carry a citation and Rs 300,000 in cash.

These awards, instituted by the state government, will be given away at the upcoming 54th Maharashtra State Marathi Film Festival, Tawde said.

American singer Katy Perry became a victim of online trolls when she posted an image of Indian Goddess Kali on social media to depict her "current mood".

Perry shared the image on Instagram on Tuesday night and captioned it: "Current mood."

While her fans in India got excited about her sharing the photograph, there were some who got offended by Perry's caption.

"What's this? This is our God. How could you compare your mood with this," one fan wrote.

Another one wrote: "She doesn't even know the story behind this picture, shame on Indians who are supporting this disgust Katy Perry did."
