The film follows the most tumultuous four years in the life of Manto and that of the two countries he inhabits – India and Pakistan. He was one of the greatest short story writers of his generation, and certainly the best-known and most controversial one from South Asia.

His short stories set during the devastating partition of the Indian subcontinent were his defining works. These irreverent, unflinching but deeply humane stories, earned him the wrath of the colonial British government and later of independent Pakistan.

The stories were deemed obscene by the courts and he spent his last years fighting legal battles to defend his right to write. Today, his work is seen by both scholars and the reading public as one of the most authentic and independent accounts of the human tragedy of those years.

Manto is written and directed by Nandita Das. The film stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Rasika Dugal, Feryna Wazheir, Rajshri Deshpande and Purab Kohli.

The Judwaa actress was returning home from actor Salman Khan's residence after attending a party to celebrate the upcoming film "Race 3". The accident took place on Carter Road.

Jacqueline's car suffered minor damage but she did not suffer any injury. The police were immediately summoned after the accident took place.

The ‘Kaabil’ actor’s social media account seems to have noticed constant attempts of hacking by a suspected single individual. Yami was diligently warned by her social media team and subsequently, the matter has now been brought to the notice of the authorities.

Reportedly, the break-ins have happened especially on her personal Twitter page through various devices at different hours of the day. She has now lodged an official complaint and filed a report with the cyber cell who is currently investigating the activities. The reports from the investigations are currently awaited and the actress along with the help from the rightful authorities aims to take action against the perpetrator as the results are shared.

The new poster from Sanju is out and Ranbir Kapoor is looking impressive and stunning, yet again. This time, the actor has tried to recreate the 1993 look when Sanjay Dutt first got arrested after a non-bailable warrant was issued against him.

Rajkumar Hirani tweeted the new Sanju poster just minutes ago and like always, Ranbir and Sanjay’s pictures from the said time bear an uncanny resemblance.

Sanju is an upcoming biographical film based on the life of Indian actor Sanjay Dutt, directed and written by Rajkumar Hirani and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor as Sanjay Dutt in various stages of his life.

Himesh Reshammiya and Sonia Kapoor are officially married. The ceremony was a close-knit affair with just close family and friends, including Himesh’s parents and his son Swaym.

The couple will be leaving for their honeymoon on Sunday. Post marriage Himesh will be announcing two new films as an actor. His wife Sonia will not be taking up any acting offers now as she wishes to focus on family.

Rumours had it that Shahid Kapoor is part of the Hindi remake of the Telugu blockbuster ‘Arjun Reddy’. However, the actor never confirmed it, until now. Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan who has been associated with the polio campaign since the get-go said, India becoming Polio free is all thanks to the people who actually worked on the field.

"We have left out the workers. They are the most important people. I did a campaign for Polio in India and after working for 8 years we were able to succeed and get India polio-free. But let me tell you the maximum amount of work and the credit goes to those workers who went to cities and villages and gave the two drops of polio vaccination. When the time came and India became polio-free a success party was organized. I asked who all were invited, and told them specifically to invite the workers who actually worked for the cause. Around 2000 people were invited and facilitated for their work.  

These are the actual people who work, we sit here and talk but they are the reason we are polio-free so I want to give the credit to them."

Generally, Pakistan censor board censors Indian films in Pakistan which shows Pakistan in negative light so, when asked John what are his plans to release “Parmanu – The Story of Pokaran’ in Pakistan, he said,   “We are coming with 300 screens in Pakistan. This is not an anti-Pakistan film, it’s a pro-India film so we are very clear that this is a film about India and we are very proud of this moment and we want to celebrate this. If we start thinking about other markets, we will be compromising on our film as we want to tell the story as it is and we don’t want to deviate from that.”

John will mark his come back on big screen almost after 2 years as he was last seen in ‘Force 2’ which released in 2016, so when asked why he takes so much of gap when it comes to release his films, he said,  “I like taking time. I wanted a good subject so after force, I think it was only ‘Parmanu’. Out of insecurity, I would have signed 10 films but I didn’t want to do that. I just want to do one film and I am very happy that ‘Parmanu’ is my next film so, I don’t have problem waiting.. it is absolutely okay”

The film was in a lockdown after its initial co-producers JA Entertainment and KriArj Entertainment became at loggerheads.

John had filed criminal cases against Prernaa Arora and her company KriArj Entertainment, for cheating, breach of trust, defamation and offences committed under the Information Technology Act.

The Bombay High Court ruled in favour of John's banner, ceasing the film's association with KriArj Entertainment, reacting to whole controversy, John said, “I think we have been through a journey. I think releasing this film is like conducting a nuclear test so we finally made it happen. I think everything happens for the best. We want to bring positivity around the film and we want to speak good things about the film. We are not here to throw mud on anybody’s face. We want to keep it clean.”

John Abraham has produced critically acclaimed films like ‘Vicky Donor’ and ‘Madras Cafe’ under his production house, so when asked John what could be reason that Hindi film industry has escapist attitude when it comes to making film like ‘Parmanu – The Story of Pokhran’, he said, “There is a saying in management that ‘the higher the risk, the greater the profit’ so, if you do not take a risk and do something different then you will make stereotypical films only so, you have to move on from there. I think it’s important to make different films and I am getting the opportunity to make those films because I am a producer also now so, I have the authority to decide on which film I will work on. I have got a fantastic team with me which pushes to dwell into different kind of scripts.”

When asked John what prompted him to make film nuclear test in India, he said, “First of all, our motive was to make an entertaining film. We didn’t wanted to make a documentary so it’s a very entertaining film and people who have seen this film in our office has told me that it has been best film made on India so when you get that kind of reaction , you feel amazing. Earlier internationally, there was film named ‘Argo’ and it was edge of the seat film so ‘Parmanu’ also has got that thing. I don’t think audience will move through 1 hour of the film and that was our effort”

“Another interesting aspect of the film is that while we were about to conduct nuclear test United States of America threatened us that if you will conduct it, you will be boycotted. It’s about how we conducted and in what circumstances we did this. I think the story is very interesting because this is the biggest case of nuclear espionage in the world ever to do it under the nose of rival nation and during that time it was biggest failure of CIA (American intelligence agency) and they have admitted it on record”

Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran is an upcoming thrilling-drama based on the real-life incident, directed by Abhishek Sharma. The film is based on the biggest secret mission ever undertaken by the Indian Government where five nuclear bombs were tested in the Pokhran range in 1998.

The movie features John Abraham, Diana Penty and Boman Irani in lead roles.

Produced by Zee Studios and Kyta Productions in association with JA Entertainment, the film is written by Saiwyn Quadras, Sanyuktha Chawla Shaikh and Abhishek Sharma.

Parmanu was earlier slated to release on 8 December 2017, but the makers pushed the date to avoid clashing with Padmaavat. Recently film got delayed further owing to fight between the producers of the film, Abraham's JA Entertainment and Kriarj Productions.

Former Maharashtra Anti Terrorists Squad (ATS) chief Himanshu Roy on Friday committed suicide by shooting himself at his residence in Mumbai. Roy was battling with bone marrow cancer since long time. The motive behind the suicide isn't known yet.

Actor Riteish Deshmukh also shared his condolences and expressed his grief. He wrote, “#HimanshuRoy no more. Is absolutely shocking & tragic. My deepest condolences to the family & his loved ones. Big loss to the @MumbaiPolice & Maharashtra state”

Producer Atul Kasbekar expressed his grief on social media. He wrote, “Deeply distressed to hear of Comm. Himanshu Roy’s suicide. The 1988 batch Indian Police Service (IPS) Officer allegedly shot himself using his service revolver at his home in Mumbai around 1.40 pm. He was brought dead to hospital.

Kunaal Ray, Kapur Ravi Dubey, and Karan Singh Grover during an interview on Thursday talked about the film's trailer release and the story where the three will be seen portraying undercover Gods.

Kunaal Roy Kapur said that the topic can turn out to be sensitive but he is glad its perceived in a positive way. "I am happy that people are taking it in the right spirit. There are few people who are being overly sensitive about the topic but I think by and large we have got a positive response. I just think we have made it in the right spirit and intentions. No, hopefully, the right message will go out to people so ya I hope it does well."

The film follows three losers who are presented as the 'Tri Dev' by their landlord and then are dragged into a web of lies that can also lead them to jail.

Ravi Dubey while talking about the positive response the film's trailer is receiving said, "It's a beautiful film, and the trailer is the first projection of the film and everyone is loving it. Even we as an audience love the trailer, it's telling what the story is about and is bringing people to the edge of their seat. The initial projection is great and we are glad that people are liking it.

When asked about playing an undercover God in the film, Karan Singh Grover one of the lead characters said, In one sense we are all undercover gods because we all have a bit of his essence. And if not for ourselves but or others we do things directly indirectly and we end up becoming their undercover gods.

There were rumours that the Race 3 trailer will be out soon but no fixed date was out. Now, Salman Khan confirms that indeed the trailer is not yet ready but will ready and released on May 15, 2018 and it will be worth the wait!

“Raid” director Rajkumar Gupta has signed Arjun Kapoor for a thriller. The superstar is all set to play a RAW agent in this ambitious project, which is titled India’s Most Wanted.

The official profile of Fox Star Hindi also confirmed the news. The statement read, “Breaking: A story inspired by the capture of #IndiasMostWanted. In cinemas 24th May 2019. Starring @arjunk26. Directed & co-produced by @rajkumar_rkg. On floors this August.”

Amitabh Bachchan was interacting with media along with Rishi Kapoor, Director Umesh Shukla at the success meet of ‘102 Not Out’ on Thursday.

The film '102 Not Out' released on 4th May reunited Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor together on a big screen after 27 years. When asked, how many more years will they take to work together again, Amitabh Bachchan said, "We were waiting for someone to bring us together and make a film for us. We have worked in so many films together and the environment has always been good. Now that we have worked on this one together hopefully more such opportunities. Now we are father and son then we can become dada- nana, two fathers, two brothers, just someone should be ready to write a story. "

The Veteran actor on the success party also expressed his views on the criticism the film received. Praising co actor  Jimit Trivedi he said, We were told that our accents were not convincing other than Jimit who has done a fantastic job in the film. Sometimes it is expected that just because you are playing a particular character from a particular state or region it is expected that you have that accent but in normal life, Gujarati speak very normally."

"But in other places, we have tried o show that they are Gujarati. Like they didn't wear shoes inside their house and used a light accent when using English words like record. If we used a thick accent it wouldn't have been easy for people from other regions."

Talking about the film's scenes being restricted to the house both characters lived in, he said, "I think I don't have an argument for that. I think Umesh-Ji wanted the house to be middle class and the scene restricted to the home because everything that happens in the film is contained within the four walls. Yes, there were opportunities when we went out and those were beyond any kind of grand exploration. I think if we had added a lot of glamour and grandness to the film the crux of the story would have been destroyed."

Rishi Kapoor when talking about criticism the film received he said, "People have said that the film looks like a play, it is because you know it is a play. my father made a film called Sangam, its running time for 4 and half hours and there were only three characters. Nobody complaint about it then that it looks like a play. in this case, you do because it is based on a play and everyone knows that. I think that I one criticism which is uncalled for."

When asked why they choose to leave the 'Badumbaa' out of the story line, the film's director Umesh Shukla said, `When we designed the song, we did only for the promotional reasons. If we would have added the song before Chintu-ji's journey in the past its impact would have reduced. He can be seen dancing in the song and it would have changed the character's impact and emotional journey."

Veteran Amitabh Bachchan was asked how the family reacted to the film, he said, "Everyone watched the film and kids loved it but Madam's reaction to my work is always serious. Usually, she (Jaya) doesn't say much but this time she said something different. She said the film's timing is amazing. When there are big films like Avenger's releasing this small film will definitely set place in everyone's heart. And she was right, it did."

‘3 Dev’ is clashing with Sonam Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor starrer ‘Veerey Di Wedding’, so when asked Ravi does he think that it will hamper box-office collection of the film, he said, “We wish all the best to ‘Veerey Di Wedding’ and us as well. Our job is not to look at profit or loss of the film. Our job is acting and that I think we have managed pretty well so we are looking forward for the release of the film and I hope both films does well at the box-office.”

‘3 Dev’ is revolves around the concept of ‘Undecover gods’, talking about the film, Ravi said, “It’s a beautiful film. The trailer is the first projection of the film and everybody loving it and even as audience, we loved it. The trailer is telling what the story is about. It’s putting people in edge of their seat so, we are very glad that people are liking it.”

“It’s about undercover god who is doing good work for the society but they are not obvious. In our daily life also, we meet lot of people like these who do good work but we obviously can’t say that they are gods”

When asked ravi what was his reaction when makers of the film approached him for ‘3 Dev’, he said, “It has ring to itself and when you listen to it for the first time, you can imagine yourself in that space. You can feel that how it resonates with your personality and frequency so you go ahead with that decision and you don’t think it through while working in it”

Sharing his experience working with Kay Kay Menon in ‘3 Dev’, Ravi said, “It was amazing working with him. He is such a senior actor. We got to learn from him while shooting the film. We always look up to him because he is 7 feet tall”

One of the latest to join his ever-growing stunning cast and crew is the National Award-winning music composer brothers – Ajay-Atul.

Gowariker says, “Ajay-Atul’s music alternates between the boisterous and the rugged while being melodious and emotional too. They have musical sensibilities that this film demands and I am excitedly looking forward to collaborating with them”.

Well, the music composer brothers, Ajay and Atul Gogavale, who came into limelight with their tunes for Marathi films are equally thrilled to be a part of this historical drama. “It is a great honor for us to work with a great director like Ashu Sir. He is not only an excellent filmmaker but also has very good musical sensibilities, and we have seen that through all his films. We are excited to be a part of his next magnum opus – Panipat,” says Ajay-Atul.

Featuring Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Kapoor and Kriti Sanon in pivotal roles, Panipat is based on the Third Battle of Panipat, which is one of the most epic battles in the history of India that took place on 14 January 1761 at Panipat.

From the pictures, it looks like the wedding was held following Sikh rituals. The two had never openly declared their relationship status and this news came as a surprise to their fans. Neha and Angad maintained a low profile and tied the knot.

According to the reports, the wedding was held in New Delhi. Angad, who is the son of cricketer Bishan Singh Bedi, has his roots in Delhi. Neha too has spent her college years in Delhi.

On the work front, Angad Bedi is busy with Soorma, which is an upcoming biographical film based on the life of hockey player Sandeep Singh, directed by Shaad Ali. It is produced by Sony Pictures Networks India, The CS Films. Also starring Diljit Dosanjh and Tapsee Pannu play the lead roles in the film. The film is scheduled to release on 13 July 2018.

Meghna Gulzar directorial Raazi, is based on a novel “Calling Sehmat” by Harinder Sikka’s novel Calling Sehmat, about an Indian spy married to a Pakistani military officer during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971.

Abhishek Bachchan took to his social media profile and praised the entire cast and crew, especially Alia Bhatt.

The movie stars an impressive ensemble of Alia Bhatt as Sehmat, Vicky Kaushal as Iqbal Syed, Rajit Kapur as Hidayat, Shishir Sharma as Brigadier Syed, Jaideep Ahlawat as Khalid Mir, Ashwath Bhatt as Mehboob Syed, Amruta Khanvilkar as Munira, And Soni Razdan as Teji.

Varun Dhawan shared the video on his social media profile, where he is taking on bars and doing stomach crunches, with Mission Impossible 6 titled track on full blast. The actor wrote, “Night training for #kalank. After years iv got a character for whom I’m very excited to train for. Try this only once you get used to the movements. Directed by Abhishek Varman of '2 States' fame, 'Kalank' features an ensemble cast of Varun Dhawan, Madhuri Dixit, Alia Bhatt, Sonakshi Sinha, Sanjay Dutt and Aditya Roy Kapur. The film will mark the return of Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit after decades.

The shooting has already begun and recently Varun confirmed that he has shot the first song for the film. Talking about his character in ‘Veerey Di Wedding’ Pahwa said, “I am playing the father-in-law of Kareena Kapoor Khan's character in the film. Though the length of my role in the narration is not huge, I agreed to do the film because of the story.

"I think 'Veere Di Wedding' is a very modern film on women empowerment. When we talk about empowerment and gender equality, we mainly focus on education, job opportunity and financial independence. But this film talks about the choice of personal lifestyle as well.

"Though it is an out-and-out commercial film with four women actors of Bollywood, and offers a high value of entertainment, the film has more to say. It is a very modern film that questions why a girl has to face questions and doubt from the society if they choose to be single or in a living relationship after a certain age? I really liked the approach of its storytelling."

"My character pushes his son to get married to the girl who he is in a live-in relation with. However, when they decide to get married, the girl finds it difficult to deal with the complication in a relationship that comes along with a marriage. The story moves forward with what happens then."

Sachin-Jigar were speaking at the second season of "Talking Music" on Saavn, a music and audio streaming service.

On the existence of the casting couch, Jigar said: "I would say (it is) everywhere. It is there, of course nobody wants it to be there, but it has been there and it still exists, I feel. It is something I will strongly oppose and do not believe in, but at the same time I want people to know that it is not only in Bollywood it is just everywhere and it's absolutely disgusting."

Sachin said that for him and Jigar, it has always been about discovering a new voice or a new lyric writer.

"That changes the way our sound is and maybe that casting couch is really meant for bringing about new talent to focus. And I hope that it finds its true meaning. I just hope that people come off their dirty little ideas and make way for talent who focus more," he added.

On Tuesday night, Mika Singh performed various songs at Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja’s wedding reception and several videos of wedding reception gone viral on social media where it can be seen that Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Varun Dhawan, Arjun Kapoor, Ranveer Singh and Anil Kapoor were dancing there heart out along with newly wedded couple, sharing his experience of Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja’s wedding reception, Mika said,  “ I will never forget yesterday’s party in my entire life because it was one of the biggest day of my life. Anil Kapoor told me to perform at Sonam’s reception around one and half month ago so, I promised him that I will be there on that day. He is really nice husband, brother, father actor and host.”

“When I was performing on stage Shah Rukh bhai (Khan) and Salman bhai  (Khan) came their on stage and took whole atmosphere of the reception to another level . It is very difficult to make two superstars dance together on the stage by remembering both of their songs. Both of them were dancing on stage for almost 1 hour then, Varun Dhawan, Ranveer Singh and arjun Kapoor did lot of fun on stage while performing. I performed there almost two and half hours continuously. My wish best wishes to Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja. Both were looking really fantastic together at their reception”

When asked Mika whether Salmam Khan should also get marry, Mika said, “I think Salman bhai (Khan) is ultimate human being. He is really good handsome and down to earth individual and when he sings, he looks really cute so, yesterday he didn’t let me sing and sung all the songs by himself by grabbing microphone from my hands.  I think he is the real king. Earlier, King used to have so many girlfriends so, I don’t think he needs anyone. Each girl wants to marry Salman Khan so, my best wishes to my brother that soon, he gets a beautiful girl for marriage”
