After historic drama ‘Padmaavat’ actor #ShahidKapoor signed social drama titled ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’ alongside Shraddha Kapoor and Yami Gautam, and confirms yet another movie, #ArjunReddy on social media.
Rumours had it that Shahid Kapoor is part of the Hindi remake of the Telugu blockbuster ‘Arjun Reddy’. However, the actor never confirmed it, until now. The ‘Padmaavat’ actor took to his social media to share a picture with the team ‘Arjun Reddy’- producers Murad Khetani, Ashwin Varde and director Sandeep Vanga.
He captioned the picture, “Team ARJUN REDDY is READY!! Here we go. Wish us luck guys. @imvangasandeep @MuradKhetani @ashwinvarde”
Sandeep Reddy Vanga who helmed the original will also be taking over the direction of the Hindi version. The movie is scheduled for the shoot in July. Female lead and other details about the film will be confirmed in due course!
Currently, Shahid Kapoor is busy wrapping Shree Narayan Singh helmed “Batti Gul Meter Chalu” – a satire about the lack of electricity in rural India, for which he has hired a language coach to learn a Garhwali dialect.
The film throws light on the issue of electricity shortage in the rural areas of the country.
‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’ brings back director Shree Narayan Singh and Prernaa Arora after their successful outing ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha.’
The film hits the theatres on August 31.
