We received several letters, calls and emails from them during the hard times offering their support. We will forever be grateful to these consumers for their support when we needed it the most,” Khan said in an interview

#Loneliness is linked to poor physical and #mentalhealth, and a new study of more than 10,000 people has found that the risk for feeling lonely is at least partially due to genetics.

loneliness-may-run-in-families
Genetic risk for loneliness is also associated with neuroticism -- long-term negative emotional state -- and depressive symptoms, said the study published in the journal Neuropsychopharmacology.

"For two people with the same number of close friends and family, one might see their social structure as adequate while the other doesn't," said lead researcher Abraham Palmer, Professor of Psychiatry at University of California - San Diego School of Medicine in the US.

"And that's what we mean by 'genetic predisposition to loneliness' -- we want to know why, genetically speaking, one person is more likely than another to feel lonely, even in the same situation," Palmer noted.

Pitiable for woman to catch culprit but unable to take action: Big B

Expressing anguish that women are often embarrassed to speak up against incidents of violence, megastar #AmitabhBachchan on Wednesday said it is a "pitiable" condition for a woman to have caught the culprit and not be able to stand up against it.

The "Pink" star lauded actress Tapsee Pannu, who features in a pivotal role in the courtroom drama on crimes against women, for sharing with the public that she has been a victim of eve-teasing and her experience of being touched at the "wrong places" while in a crowded area or while travelling in a local bus.

"One day somebody tried to feel her and she actually caught his hand but she did not have the courage to turn around and see who he was. It is a pitiable condition for a woman to have caught the culprit and not be able to take a stand against it."

"When are we going to do that? I think 'Pink' is one film that is asking us to stand up and face these issues. I laud the fact that she has shared this with us," Bachchan said here.

Asserting that "Pink" is no longer a film, "it has become a movement", Big B said people don't realise what women go through when they are cat-called, teased or felt publicly in awkward places.

"We have no idea about that and women are scared to say because they feel it's embarrassing... it would be embarrassing for their family... for themselves... for people at large. But I think the time has come that they should never feel embarrassed."

In her new film "The Girl on the Train", the 33-year-old stars as Rachel Watson, a recent divorcee and alcoholic who becomes obsessed with the seemingly perfect couple she sees everyday when she passes their home, while riding the train.

As the story of the film tackles aspects of motherhood, Blunt has opened up on how she sees motherhood, reports hollywoodreporter.com.

Speaking at the movie's world premiere here on Tuesday night, Blunt said: "There is a huge societal pressure on women when it comes to motherhood, and these 'mommy cults' that go on.

"It makes women feel that they have to be a bit defensive about the choices they make - whether they want to be a mother or whether they don't, whether they want to breastfeed or whether they don't. I could go on and on."
