Skin care for a 'Monsoon Wedding'

Looking beautiful on the wedding day is not merely a matter of make-up and the dress you wear. It needs weeks of care. If a skin care programme is followed four-six weeks before the wedding, it can really help to reinvent your beauty. For a "Monsoon Wedding", it is all the more important.

Instamag-Skin care for a 'Monsoon Wedding'
For a Monsoon bride, high humidity poses a problem, especially for those with oily or combination skins. Oily skins look even more oily and dull, due to sweat and secretions being deposited on the skin. Sweat on the skin also attracts dirt and pollutants from the atmosphere more easily.

Deep pore cleansing with facial scrubs is important to keep the pores free of clogged oil and dirt. It also helps to brighten the skin. After washing or cleansing the skin in the morning, use a facial scrub twice a week. Apply it on the face and rub gently on the skin, using a circular motion. Then, rinse off with plenty of plain water.

Rains are here, and so are the skin and hair fears. Sweat and oil deposits make the skin and hair really dull so adjust your skin and hair care routine according to the season. From avoiding rubbing your face while drying it up to avoid hair spray and hair gel can do the trick, says an expert.

Historically, women were discouraged from vigorous exercise during pregnancy because of the risk of pre-term birth.

"The thinking was that exercise releases norepinephrine in the body, which is a chemical that can stimulate contractions of the uterus, and thus lead to pre-term birth. However, numerous studies, including this new meta-analysis, have since shown that exercise does not harm the baby and can even have benefits for the mom and baby," said Professor Vincenzo Berghella of Thomas Jefferson University.

♦ The hair usually becomes dull and limp during the monsoon season, when the humidity is high. Give the hair a tea-water and lemon rinse after shampoo. Boil used tea leaves again in enough water. After boiling, you should have about five to six cups of tea-water. Cool and strain it. Add lemon juice and use it as a last rinse after shampoo.

♦ Applying essential oil may help monsoon hair problems, like dandruff. Essential oils should always be mixed with oil, rose water, or mineral water. Add five drops of Tea Tree Oil to 100 ml water. Shake well and keep in an airtight bottle. Apply this on the scalp, after shampoo and leave on.

The actress shared her view of working in Bollywood and its nuances in the July issue of online fashion portal Jabong's The Juice magazine.

“In the bigger film, honestly, nobody gives a s**t about talent. Mumbai is a place of mediocrity. The day before, I read this article by Adoor Gopalakrishnan and he said - ‘We are actually habituated to seeing bad films. That’s why when one or two decent films come out, we’re like ‘OMG, this is great cinema',' ” Sayani said.

After making her debut with a serious film with Kalki Koechlin, Sayani went on to play the role of Shah Rukh's manager in “Fan”.

Talking abut shooting with Shah Rukh, she said: “For 'Fan', Shah Rukh had a 3 p.m. to 3 a.m. call time, which is also my favourite shift, because you can wake up by 12 and still have a nice lunch and have a couple of hours to yourself before you start work.”
