Make your winter wardrobe stylish

Winter leaves fashionistas with restricted options of experimenting with colours, designs and cuts but one can try out some smart ways like layering and opting for classic pieces to make winter wear stylish.

Rajeev Sinha, CEO of online fashion brand Vanca, lists some of the ways to make your winter wear stylish.

♦ As the Seventies make a comeback at the International Fashion front this season (Chloe, Marc Jacobs, Alexander Wang), the leather dress with its sculptural shape and a rock-chic look, has become a must have in our Fall/Winter 2016-2017 wardrobe.

♦ Layering of garments is the most creative and yet the safest way to look classy and stylish during winters. All you need is a strong sense of personal style and a tad bit of creative genes within you, and you can have a lot of fun mixing and matching pieces from your wardrobe, even those which have been rendered so very last season!

♦ While planning the winter wardrobe one cannot ignore the trends of the season and what's trending this season are the patches, badges and embroideries.

♦ For those who are not so experimental and more adhering to the classic looks, we recommend few classic pieces to them, to form looks which are tried and tested as well as instantly chic. Styles such as a knee length wool coat - one of the most classic winter fashions, a knit cardigan - ideal for layering under heavy wool coats in the winter.

Know how to get good sleep

People who fall asleep within 30 minutes or less and wake up no more than once at night qualify for several health benefits associated with good sleep, researchers have suggested.

Sleeping more time while in bed (at least 85 per cent of the total time) and being awake for 20 minutes or less after initially falling asleep are other key determinants of good quality sleep issued by the US non-profit National Sleep Foundation (NSF).

The researchers used at-home sleep technology devices -- gadgets worn throughout sleep or placed on the bed stand -- to analyse the amount of deep and light sleep people get each night, how frequently one wakes up and the length of tossing and turning on the bed.

"Millions of Americans are sleep technology users. These devices provide a glimpse into one's sleep universe, which is otherwise unknown and provide consumers with the resources needed to understand their sleep," said Max Hirshkowitz, Chairman at NSF.

Groom your beard, look smart

A bearded look seems to be in trend and most men are following it blindly without following a proper regime.

Along with growing your beard, also comes the task of maintaining it for you to look well-groomed and sharp so keep in mind a few things to make an impression through some simple tips.

Experts at Gillette shared a few tips on how one should flaunt their bearded look in style.

♦ Use the right tools: First and foremost, make sure you use the right grooming tools. Invest in a multi-blade razor to get the precision you want while styling or maintaining your beard. You'll get a smooth and incredibly close shave.

♦ Keep a check on the length: Don't let your beard cover your face. Shape it well, shave under the chin and on the sides to give it precision. If you like the sculpted look, nothing better than using a razor, that will give you a cleaner look.

♦ Moisturise, Moisturise, Moisturise: During winter, keep facial and beard dryness away with a heavier moisturiser than you would use in the summer. It helps protect skin from chapping, itchiness and red patches.

Not SRK's fault: B-Town celebs on 'Raees' train journey mishap

Is #Shah_Rukh_Khan not supposed to travel by train or visit a railway station, questions writer-lyricist #Javed_Akhtar, who is among the celebrities who feel it wasn't the actor's fault if a person died due to suffocation in the crowd at a railway station where the "Raees" star was promoting his film.

Shah Rukh on Monday undertook a train journey from Mumbai to Delhi, and Vadodara was one the stations where the train stopped. He waved out at his hordes of fans, who created a commotion at the station. This led to one man collapsing, and when he was rushed to hospital, he was declared dead.

Shah Rukh has called the incident "unfortunate" and even the deceased's family members have said they have nothing against the actor.

Commenting on the incident, industry veteran Javed said on the sidelines of the grand jury meet of Radio Mirchi Awards: It was not his (Shah Rukh's) fault. What do you want to say that he is not supposed to travel by train or visit a railway station?

"It is the responsibility of the railway authorities and the traffic police to ensure the safety of the fans or should have better control over the crowd."
