♦ Regular dusting: Always brush or clean your shoes before putting them in to the shoe rack. When you remove the dirt and dust after the use, it prevents dirt particles from entering the leather surface.

Never leave dirty shoes in your closet because once the dirt settles, it completely spoils the texture and the shoe loses its shine and structure.

Baby wipes is a good shoe cleaning alternative. Mild detergent for cleaning textile and PU shoes is also helpful.

"Khadi is the fabric of the future. It keeps you warm in winter and cool in summer, it uses hand and human resources from step one till finish. What it needs is contextualisation in modern times," Russell told in an e-mail interview from Dhaka.

The designer is excited about showcasing her latest collection at the seventh edition of India Runway Week September 16-18 and said khadi would be the focus of the range.

"The collection that I will be showing is 100 percent khadi and 100 percent Rajasthani. Rajasthan is a goldmine for all sorts of culture and art. It is also the largest producer of woollen khadi or 'ooni' khadi as they call it," she added.

Ad films more challenging than movie-making: Onir

"Doing ad films is more difficult because you have to say everything in 30 seconds, which is very different from films. Also, it challenges you as a filmmaker... And I like challenges. It was exciting too because this is the first time I was doing a advertising campaign," Onir told on phone from Mumbai.

"I enjoyed the creative process and how you reach out to the audience. The end product is beautiful and people are reacting very well. In films, there is certain comfort because you have been doing them for so long. It's always nice when you try other forms of storytelling.
