Qandeel, known for posting bold videos and statements on Facebook, was killed by her own brother three days ago, the Dawn newspaper quoted police officer Azam Sultan as saying.

The murder took place in Multan in Punjab province.

Qandeel's brother had been threatening her over her Facebook posts and videos, said the police. The brother fled after murdering Qandeel, whose real name is Fauzia Azeem.

Bollywood superstar #SalmanKhan has sent his reply to the Maharashtra State Commission for Women's summons asking him to explain his recent "rape remark", a top official said here on Thursday.

"He has filed his reply to us today. We are in the process of studying it before deciding the next course of action. I cannot reveal details at this stage," MSCW Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar told.

Rising income inequality, and the resulting scarcity of certain types of jobs, is a key reason a large number of millennials in the US are having babies before getting married, a study says.

The researchers traced how the income gap, a large-scale societal trend, was affecting individual personal choices about starting a family. 

The greater the income inequality in an area, the less likely young men and women are to marry before having a first child, the results showed. 

"Does income inequality affect a young adult's decision about getting married and starting a family?" We think the answer is 'Yes' for those who don't graduate from college,” said lead researcher Andrew Cherlin, Professor at Johns Hopkins University in the US.

Offering new evidence to show that male and female brains are wired differently, new research has found that a brain region involved with stress and keeping heart rate and blood pressure high work differently in men and women.

While measuring brain activity with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) during blood pressure trials, the researchers found that men and women had opposite responses in the right front of the insular cortex, a part of the brain integral to the experience of emotions, blood pressure control and self-awareness.

The insular cortex has five main parts called gyri serving different roles.

Silk Inspire invites all emerging wedding photographers, and seasoned professionals to learn, interact and network. It will bring together eight of the world's best wedding photographers as photography instructors for the festival.

The festival is organised by Silk photos, a boutique photo-agency which represents a select group of wedding photographers, both stills and motion, specialising in Indian weddings and destination wedding photography. 

After it took the Grammy Museum of Los Angeles by storm, it's India's turn now to witness the surge of classical tunes with the debut of the #GoldenSymphony tour in India.

Grammy-winning cello maestro #BarryPhillips along with #LakshayMohan and #AayushMohan, disciples of late #PanditRaviShankar, will start the three-city tour from #Delhi. 

The Golden Symphony tour, an initiative by Jabro Advertising, will be held in Delhi on July 23, Bengaluru on July 29 and Mumbai on August 3, read a statement. 

Lakshay and Aayush are the only Indian duo to have been invited to perform at the prestigious Grammy Museum. 

Lakshay says he has spent a lot of time with Phillips and they understand each other's music well. 

#Postmenopausal #women with metabolic syndrome report lower sexual activity, desire, and #sexual satisfaction, according to a new report.

According to a new study published in The American Journal of Medicine, researchers looked at the role metabolic syndrome and cardiovascular disease play in postmenopausal women sexual health. 

The study also showed that coronary artery disease was more prevalent in women with low rates of #sexualactivity.

Researchers from the University of California surveyed 376 postmenopausal women using a Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI) questionnaire. 

Waist size, diabetes, and hypertension were additionally associated with decreased sexual activity and elevated triglycerides were linked to lower desire, revealed the study.

The stress that women working in numerically male-dominated occupations often report is due to unfavourable workplace climate, and not because of inherent "women's nature" as commonly thought, suggests new research.

The researchers found that when subjected to the negative social conditions that many women report experiencing in male-dominated occupations, men showed the same physiological stress response to the conditions as did women.

"Women are not especially sensitive to negative workplace social conditions. Rather, both women and men exhibit similar responses to the same types of stressful workplace conditions," said study author Cate Taylor, assistant professor, Indiana University in the US.

Many #diet plans are doomed from the start - The reason being that dieters tend to adopt the wrong strategies, often planning to ditch their favourite foods and replace them with less-desirable options, new research has revealed.

A study published in the journal Psychology & Marketing says successful dieters focus on adding healthy foods and reveals that health-plan successes are determined by approach or avoidance strategies.

"Our research shows that instead of creating rules to avoid one's favourite treats, dieters should focus on eating healthy foods that they enjoy," said Meredith David, Assistant Professor at Baylor University in the US.

Dieters who restrict themselves from consuming the #foods they love most may be setting themselves up for failure. Instead, they may be better off by allowing occasional "treats" and focusing attention on healthy foods, revealed the study.
