The first look of Vidya Balan's upcoming Marathi debut film “Ekk Albela” has been unveiled. The film is set to release on June 24.

The actress shared the poster on her Twitter account and captioned it as: “Happy to share my 'Ekk Albela Poster'. 'Ekk Albela' releases June 24. Aala re aala Bhagwan aala.”

In the poster, Vidya, who will be seen portraying the role of late actress Geeta Bali in the film, can be seen clad in a sari standing back to back with Marathi actor Mangesh Desai, who will portray the role of late actor Bhagwan Dada.

In the background one can see the famous headquarters of the Central Railways in Mumbai, Chhatrapati Shivaji terminus which was earlier known as Victoria Terminus.

Many first-time parents are not much satisfied with their sex lives after the birth of their child and the major factor that reduces the sexual pleasure is mothers' stress as a new parent, reveals a study.

The findings showed that 12 months after the baby was born, parents reported on their overall sexual satisfaction but mothers reported less sexual satisfaction. 

"We know that sexual satisfaction is an important element in relationships, but as far as we know, it hasn't been studied at this transition before. We wanted to know how parenting stress affects sexual satisfaction," said Chelom E. Leavitt from Penn State.

"Interestingly, we found that men's parenting stress had no impact on either men or women's sexual satisfaction," Leavitt added in the paper published in the journal Sex Roles.

Filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker says some short-term courses in hotel management and travel and tourism earlier in his life come in handy to him in the process of filmmaking.

"I did many short term courses like hotel management, typing classes and travel and tourism course without knowing what I wanted to do in life. But all those learning have come handy while working on my films.

"The food spread in 'Jodhaa Akbar' came from the hotel management course and my travel tourism course helped me a lot while making 'Swades'," he said.

He also spoke about the research that goes into making a film, especially if it is about historical characters. 

"I always do the research myself. I read all the books on the subject that I am going to adapt and understand the era myself. While making 'Lagaan', I read all the books on British Raj, cricket and Indian villages in Gujarat," said Gowariker, whose next film is "Mohenjo Daro".

The 48-year-old star loves it when her eldest son René-Charles has his friends over to stay at their house because he wasn't able to make many friends during his younger years because the family was moving around to different areas so often.

Grammy award winning singer #JustinBieber and American electronic music producer and singer Skrillex have been sued over the song “Sorry”.

Casey Dienel, who records as White Hinterland, filed a lawsuit against the two over Bieber’s 2015 comeback megahit “Sorry,” which was co-produced by Skrillex, reports variety.com.

In the lawsuit, Dienel claims Bieber and Skrillex ripped of the “unique characteristics of the female vocal riff” of her 2014 track “Ring the Bell.” 

Dienel addressed the lawsuit on her Facebook page on Thursday stating that “the writers, producers, and performers of "Sorry" did not obtain a license for this exploitation of my work nor did they obtain or seek my permission.”

The writers of the song -- Julia Michaels, Justin Tranter and Michael Tucker, are also listed in the lawsuit.

#NicoleKidman has starred in a virtual reality movie released by Etihad Airways, the national carrier of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The Oscar-winning actress says getting into the virtual realm with the film was exciting as well as challenging.

Etihad Airways released its 360-degree virtual reality film on Thursday, and viewers need to download the Oculus VR app from the airline’s dedicated website vr.etihad.com to watch the film.

Viewers can also watch the film as a 360 degree video on YouTube, read a statement. 

Kidman, who is also Etihad Airways’ brand ambassador, shares that “the film is a culmination of Etihad’s vision”. 

Reality TV star Khloe Kardashian has filed for divorce from estranged husband Lamar Odom for the second time.

The “Keeping up with the Kardashians” star filed the divorce on Thursday, citing irreconcilable differences, according to court documents, reports people.com.

The two wed in 2009, just a month after meeting each other. Kardashian first filed for divorce in December 2013 after Odom relapsed with his substance abuse problems and cheated. However, she called off their protracted divorce following Odom's near-fatal overdose in October last year.

Menopause can increase risk of developing sleep apnea, a potentially serious sleep disorder which can have negative effects on your health, says a city doctor.

Sleep apnea begins with partial blockage of the upper airway and leads to pauses in breathing while asleep. 

As the condition aggravates, it takes the form of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) in which the pauses in breathing become quite frequent, even amounting to 100 times in a single night. 

The condition is most common in women and worsens in the post-menopause period as the phase marks the end of the reproductive period of a woman and brings about a lot of hormonal, physical and psychological changes in them. 

"The levels of estrogen and progesterone (hormones which protect the airways from collapsing) released in the body declines during menopause, as a result of which, women become more prone to contracting obstructive sleep apnea in this phase," said Vivek Nangia, director and HOD (Pulmonology) at Fortis Flt. Lt. Rajan Dhall Hospital, Vasant Kunj.

Good sleep and regular exercise, choosing healthy food items and better cooking methods are the secrets of leading a healthy lifestyle, says an expert.

Saurabh Aggarwal, expert from fitness startup FITSO, suggests how to be healthy:

♦ Maintain a proper sleeping schedule, which for most people means seven to eight hours each night is important for fitness. Working out three to four times per week is a great way to start. Once you have your routine with you, stick to it and you will see the benefits. Three to four sessions of 20 to 30 minutes of cardiovascular exercises (run/jog/ride/walk) weekly is quite helpful to overall health.

♦ A healthy and balanced diet has ample vitamins, nutrients, and colour. And the easiest way to achieve this in your diet is through piling on the fruits and vegetables. Megastar Amitabh Bachchan will not host the celebration of the second anniversary of the Narendra Modi government here, but he will take to the stage briefly to talk about the 'Beti bachao, Beti padhao' campaign for girl education.

A source in the know of developments told that Amitabh -- a United Nations ambassador for the girl child -- will just be speaking on the campaign, which is close to his heart.

"It's just a small segment. But he won't be hosting the show," the source said.

Amitabh's son Abhishek too confirmed this.

"He is part of the function where he is talking about educating a girl child, and that is not a political event," Abhishek, who was in the national capital on Wednesday for a film promotion event, told reporters here.

There has been buzz that Amitabh would host an eight-hour long talk show titled "Zara Muskura Do", which will have several performances and programmes highlighting the Bharatiya Janata Party government's achievements till now.

The famous Kardashian family has been offered $100 million to star in their own movie.

The family, including Kris Jenner, Kourtney Kardashian, Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, Kylie Jenner, Rob Kardashian and Caitlyn Jenner, have been approached by a top Hollywood film studio for a movie featuring them together, reports mirror.co.uk.

News of the offer was revealed by the Kardashians' biographer and author Ian Halperin.

“A top Hollywood studio executive told me today (Wednesday) that his major studio intends to make a huge offer to the Kardashian family to star in a feature-length film,” Halperin told The Sun newspaper.

The studio's research showed the Kardashians could become the highest TV show-turned-movie ever. 

"The executive stressed that part of the deal would include a nine-figure upfront offer plus a backend of the film's earnings,” Halperin added.

Singer-actress Monica Dogra has announced the launch of her campaign called Shiver, which encourages a healthy conversation of various social justice compartments like homosexuality and feminism. For a video on this, she engaged choreographer Reshma Gajjar, known to have toured with popular music artists like Madonna and Ricky Martin.

Monica said in a statement: "The story behind the dancing and choreography originates with Ryan Heffington having first agreed to choreograph the piece. Things didn't work out with Ryan so I was in desperate need of a new choreographer. 

“Reshma is my long time friend and collaborator. She has danced for the likes of Madonna, Ricky Martin and A.R. Rahman. I reached out to her and she recommended Jasmine Albuquerque."

"Udta Punjab" director Abhishek Chaubey says singer Kanika Kapoor has sung "Da da dasse" wonderfully for the film.

"Udta Punjab" highlights the issue of rampant drug abuse among the youth in Punjab. Shahid Kapoor is seen essaying the character of a high-on-drugs, long-haired rockstar Tommy Singh, who sings with glee and abuses with impunity. 

It features Alia Bhatt as a migrant Bihari labourer, Kareena Kapoor Khan as a doctor who is determined to fight the illegal transportation of drugs, and Punjabi actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh as a police officer.

After "Chitta ve" and "Ikk kudi", the third song "Da da dasse" will be launched on Thursday. And the USP of the song is that all the four characters played by Shahid, Alia, Kareena and Diljit will be featured in the song.

The song, which has music by Amit Trivedi, describes the journey of each character.

But nothing, nothing whatsoever, prepared me for what I was to hear on the 1^st of July, 2008.That day I heard the word Carcinoma.  As I sat numb struck in my Doctor’s office, I heard other words – #Cancer, Stage, Grade.

Until then Cancer was a Zodiac sign, stage was what I danced on and grades were what I got in school.

But that day they took on an ominous meaning.

As a dancer I know the Navarasa –(Shringara, Hasya, Karuna, Roudra,Veera, Bhibatsa, Adhbhuta, Shanta and Bhayanaka) -  I thought I knew what Bhayanaka was, that day I learnt what fear was. That day I also realized that I now had an unwelcome, uninvited, new life partner.

The film which stars Shahid Kapoor, Kangana Ranaut and Saif Ali Khan is set in the 1940s amidst the turmoil of India’s independence struggle and will festure some epic historic references. 

The film wrapped its final shoot schedule a couple of weeks back and the entire team, including Bhardwaj, producer Sajid Nadiadwala and Ajit Andhare, COO, Viacom18 Motion Pictures, are delighted with the results. 

“I am very happy with what we have achieved during the shooting of Rangoon. This film is closest to my heart and I want to make sure this is seen as my best work," Bhardwaj said in a statement.

A constantly crying baby can not only hamper your peace, it can also rattles your brain functions and alter the way you think and act to make daily decisions, a study has found.

The brain data revealed that the infant cries reduced attention to the task and triggered greater cognitive conflict processing than infant laughs.

"Parental instinct appears to be hardwired yet no one talks about how this instinct might include cognition," said David Haley from the University of Toronto.

The team looked at infant vocalisations -- in this case, audio clips of a baby laughing or crying -- and its effect on adults who completed a cognitive conflict task. 

They asked participants to rapidly identify the colour of a printed word while ignoring the meaning of the word itself. 

Brain activity was measured using electroencephalography (EEG), which took place immediately after a two-second audio clip of an infant vocalisation.

Garg's line notes the ephemeral days in which trees haze green and buds remain clenched pre-bloom, as nature finds new roots through those older.

The capsule collection uses chanderi and organza along with hues of white, ivory, gold and blush.

It features a singular bud motif, woven on a handpicked jaala and inlaid into the weave using an extra weft. Seams are joined with the introduction of silk-cotton gold tissue.

“Bungalow 8 takes risks. Every designer likes to be pushed out of their comfort zone. I like that they constantly challenge what I do,” Garg said.
