Actress Angelina Jolie is in talks to star in Kenneth Branagh’s “Murder on the Orient Express”.

The shooting is expected to begin in November in London and then move to Malta, reports hollywoodreporter.com.

Jolie would play Mrs. Harriet Hubbard, a role once played by actress Lauren Bacall in the 1974 version.

The Fox film, based on Agatha Christie’s classic mystery, has been in the works for years. 

The story is on special detective Hercule Poirot, who boards the train from Istanbul to London only to have a murder committed in the car next to his during a snowstorm. Poirot tries to discover the murderer or murderers before there's another victim.

Bollywood actress Swara Bhaskar on Friday came out in support of Anurag Kashyap's "Udta Punjab", and in an open letter to Censor Board chief Pahlaj Nihalani she said that "sanitizing art and popular culture was not the healthiest thing for society".

She also said that an atmosphere of 'sanitization' and 'policing' produces fear among artists and creative people.

"I want to bring to your attention that a deliberately sanitized art and popular culture may not be the healthiest thing for a society. No society in the world is sanitized. There is a lot that is wrong, dirty, shameful, filthy and abusive everywhere in the world," she wrote in the letter.

"Art reflects its context and the society it was created in. To produce a sanitized art, that is unable to accommodate or reflect the less savoury aspects of society is to wear blinders, unnecessarily," she added.

Actor Irrfan Khan, who shared the screen with Deepika Padukone in "Piku", says Deepika is the biggest star and he is glad Amitabh Bachchan thinks the same.

Recently, Amitabh Bachchan said that people watched "Piku" only because of Deepika Padukone. 

Irrfan, asked for his reaction on the same, said: "I don't want to react on that. If he is saying so then there is some truth to it. Deepika is the biggest star and she was the diamond in the whole montage of actors and I am glad he acknowledged Deepika's work."

Meanwhile, Irrfan is busy promoting his film "Madaari" and he says the definition of commercial cinema should be broadened.

He says, "We are trying to redefine commercial cinema and commercial cinema's definition should be broadened."

Director Sudhir Mishra on Firday said he hopes that filmmaker Shyam Benegal's report, as part of a committee to revamp the censor board, is implemented soon.

"I hope Shyam Benegal committee's report is implemented very soon because he is the most idealistic and knowledgeable filmmaker we have in the country. I think it is a great idea that the government made him the head of the committee, which will relook censorship and certification in the time of the internet," Mishra said.

"This is a very old set of rules you work with. Time has totally changed. I think it will be implemented very soon," the "Yeh Saali Zindagi" helmer said at a screening of films directed by The Homeless Children of Vatslya Foundation on Thursday.

Benegal was handed the responsibility of revamping the guidelines in the censor board, with numerous established names such as Kamal Haasan, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra among others in the committee, in January this year. 

The committee submitted its report in April.

He added, "Cinema is a voluntary act; you buy a ticket and then watch it. If you don't want to see it, you walk out. I mean everybody is entitled to his or her view so if television, media is allowed their point of view then why not filmmakers?"

"Junooniyat", starring Pulkit Samrat and Yami Gautam, will now release on June 17 instead of June 24. It has been cleared by the Central Board of Film Certification without a single cut, says the film's director Vivek Agnihotri.

The director said in a statement: "We were already ready with the film and the songs have become very popular. There is a lot of curiosity about the film, so we decided to go ahead and prepone the film's release.

Bollywood's livewire actor Ranveer Singh, who was felicitated with the ‘Indian of The Year - Special Achievement Award’ by CNN-NEWS18 here, says he feels "blessed" with the honour.

The far superior "TE3N" reprises the Korean film "Montage". The other new film "Do Lafzon Ki Kahani" is actor-turned-director Deepak Tijori's heartfelt adaptation of the Korean film "Always", about a disgraced guilt-stricken boxer and a happy but visibly impaired girl whom he falls in love with.

Turn and repeat the same from the right side of your body. 

Second position plies: Stand with your feet spread wider than shoulder-width, slightly turn out your toes and bend your knees to lower your body so that your thighs are parallel to the floor. Now, raise your arms overhead, while resting down and back the shoulders. Hold that position and breathe normally before pushing yourself back to the first position.

While people might think that stopping to take photographs during their vacation could make it less pleasurable, a new study suggests that people who take photos of their experiences usually enjoy the events more than people who do not.

Conducted by a joint team of psychologists from the University of Southern California, Yale University and the University of Pennsylvania, the research is the first extensive investigation examining how taking photos affects people's enjoyment of their experiences.

"We show that, relative to not taking photos, photography can heighten enjoyment of positive experiences by increasing engagement," wrote study co-authors Kristin Diehl, Gal Zauberman and Alixandra Barasch in an article published recently in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology.

The "Udta Punjab" controversy shows some of the worst manifestations of governance in the country. First, it highlights the failure of the Punjab government led by the Akali Dal and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to check the drug menace.

Secondly, it once again brings to light the political role which the censor board has been playing ever since its chief, Pahlaj Nihalani, a known votary of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was put in charge.

But for his subservience to the saffron camp, this B-grade filmmaker wouldn't have made it to such an important position.

It is not surprising, therefore, that he has been trying to shoot down "Udta Punjab" since it deals with a major problem in the state.

With the state assembly elections due next year, the Akali Dal-BJP government will understandably be nervous about the impact of the film if its uncensored version is released.

Nihalani's political interests are evident from his charge that the producer, Anurag Kashyap, has received money from the Aam Admi Party (AAP) for his criticism of the censor board.

The AAP will make its first major foray outside Delhi in the Punjab polls and is expected to do well.

However, the point which the Union government, and especially the Information and Broadcasting Ministry, will have to consider is whether "soaring" India, about which the government is so vocal, can be pulled down by unworthy political servitors in key official positions.

Tata Sons Chairman emeritus Ratan Tata invested in e-ticketing company Kyazoonga in his personal capacity, the company said on Friday.

The funds will be deployed by the startup for market expansion, to enter geographies like United States, West Asia, Pakistan and the Caribbean Islands.

Started in 2007, Kyazoonga looks at partnering with sports franchises, music concerts, promoters and event organisers. According to Founder Neetu Bhatia the company sold more than 25 million tickets last year.

Actress Shriya Saran has been finalised as the leading lady of Nandamuri Balakrishna starrer Telugu historical drama "Gauthamiputra Satakarni", the actor's 100th film.

In the wake of controversy over 'Udta Punjab', National Award winner Kangana Ranaut on Thursday lent her support to the movie's makers, saying the film fraternity deserves its creative liberties and don't need a parental attitude towards audiences to protect them.

The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) headed by BJP-appointed Pahlaj Nihalani is said to have suggested cuts to the Abhishek Chaubey directorial, which delves into the drug abuse issue in Punjab.

Asked about her opinions on the controversy at the CNN-News18 'Indian of the Year' 2015 award show, Kangana said: "We all have been very concerned with the way things are going. I am not a director and I have not been through that process.

"But people whom I closely work with seem extremely disturbed with the way things are and to an extend they feel bullied. They know there is a process of certification. We do not ought to have that sort of parental attitude towards audiences that we need to protect them."

Kangana, who has won three National Awards for her roles in 'Fashion', 'Queen' and 'Tanu Weds Manu Returns', shared her personal experience when during the release of Queen, its director Vikas Bahl was asked to blur a scene as the censor board thought it was "vulgar".

His new telephone alows the user to use internet almost in any language. Thirty-year-old Sachdev is co-founder and CEO of Uniphore Software Systems since 2008. The other co-founder is Ravi Saraogi. 

The Chennai-based startup produces software that allows people to interact with their phones and access services such as online banking by communicating in their native languages, Time said in its profile on Sachdev.

Low cost carrier Flydubai will set up its first Indian Development Centre (IDC) in Hyderabad.

The centre will lead flydubai's IT and technology innovation and will be a hub for software development, research and operations, the Dubai-based airline said in a statement.

It also announced a partnership with Hyderabad-based tech startup, HackMania, to promote its Application Programming Interface (API) App Store.

Actress Renee Zellweger, who is making a return to the big screen in "Bridget Jones's Baby", has slammed critics for scrutinising her weight gain for the film.

Zellweger, who is making a comeback after a six-year hiatus from Hollywood, had to gain weight for reprising her role as Bridget Jones in the third instalment of the "Bridget Jones" film franchise. 

However, she did not think that gaining weight for her role was a big deal, reports aceshowbiz.com. 

"I put on a few pounds. I also put on some breasts and a baby bump. Bridget is a perfectly normal weight and I've never understood why it matters so much," Zellweger told Vogue Britain. 

Diabetic patients who fast during Ramadan are likely to be at risk of major health complications. Hence they should fast only if their doctors consider them fit enough, experts say.

The month-long period that is typically marked by long fasting hours during daylight hours is followed by grand feast each evening after sunset (Iftaar), which can be continued till pre-dawn (Sehri).

According to health experts, such long gaps between meals that range from 12 to 15 hours may lead to metabolic changes in the body, which can pose serious health problems for diabetes patients.

Actress Huma Qureshi has said that she is a big fan of the late popular singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, whose song 'Dillagi Bhool Jani Padegi' was adapted for 'Dillagi' song in which she featured.

At the launch of the song 'Dillagi', Huma was asked if she had heard the original. She said: "Of course I had heard the song before. I am a huge Nusrat sahab fan."

Khan was a renowned Pakistani singer, famous for his Qawwalis, who passed away in 1997.

Music composers Salim Sulaiman have adapted the song with Rahat Fateh Ali Khan lending his voice to the song. Huma is cast opposite Vidyut Jammwal in the song, directed by cinematographer Kiran Deohans.

The release of British actor Benedict Cumberbatch's upcoming film "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" has been pushed from 2017 to 2018.

Illumination Entertainment and Universal Pictures have rescheduled the film from November 10, 2017 to November 9, 2018, reports aceshowbiz.com. 

The film is an adaptation of Dr. Seuss's 1957 children picture book about a misanthropic green creature who hates Christmas and tries to keep the residents of Whoville from enjoying it. 

Singer Nick Jonas prefers to have a "low key" first date rather than making it lavish so that he can get to know his new love interest.

The "Jealous" hitmaker -- who previously dated model Olivia Culpo and has been romantically linked with names like Lily Collins and Kate Hudson -- thinks there is too much "pressure" for a first evening with someone to be "magical", reports femalefirst.co.uk.

Anchor-producer Ryan Seacrest thinks Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna's upcoming reality show "Rob & Chyna" will be "exciting".

The couple -- who got engaged in April after a whirlwind romance and are expecting their first child together -- have signed a deal with E! for six 60-minute episodes of "Rob & Chyna" and Seacrest, who is also the executive producer of the show, has promised fans to expect the unexpected, reports eonline.com.

Consuming a Mediterranean diet rich in vegetable fats such as olive oil or nuts does not lead to significant weight gain compared to a low-fat diet, finds a new research.

The findings showed that fats from nuts, fish and phenolic-rich vegetable oils found in the Mediterranean diet are healthier than fats from meat and processed foods.

"Our study shows that a Mediterranean diet rich in vegetable fats had little effect on bodyweight or waist circumference compared to people on a low-fat diet,” said lead author Ramon Estruch from the University of Barcelona, Spain. 

A Mediterranean diet has been known to reduce mortality, heart diseases as well as cancer.

The findings showed that increasing the size of wine glasses led to nearly 10 per cent increase in wine sales.

"We found that increasing the size of wine glasses, even without increasing the amount of wine, leads people to drink more," said Rachel Pechey from University of Cambridge in Britain.

Alcohol consumption is one of the leading risk factors for disease and has been linked to conditions such as type 2 diabetes, cancer and liver disease.
