Spanish brand #Lladro has come up with an exclusive festive collection for 2016 with a depiction of Lord Shiva and Goddess Sri Lakshmi in high porcelain. Nikhil Lamba, COO of Lladro India, says that their Spirit of India collection is extremely popular amongst the Indian segment and hence India as a market is important for them.
"India is very important and it can easily be identified by the fact that this year we have High Porcelain product as Lord Shiva, which is a collection from our Spirit of India Range.
"Wherein every high porcelain product takes a minimum of a year of ideation and creation, it is very difficult and important for the LladrĂ³ family to pick one market and dedicate the key resources to make that one product," Lamba told in an interaction here.
For this segment of clients, LladrĂ³ introduces new products in Spirit of India collection every year. While high porcelain Ganesha (2010), Goddess Lakshmi (2012) and Goddess Saraswati (2015) were successfully launched in the past, it was time to create high porcelain Lord Shiva, which is a limited edition of 720 units priced at Rs.7,20,000.
As for Goddess Sri Lakshmi, it is a smaller 22 cm variant priced at Rs. 90,000 that can be paired with Classic LladrĂ³ Ganeshas for the festive season.
Talking about price points, Lamba said: "High porcelain Lord Shiva is a limited edition of 720 pieces across the globe. These pieces are high in demand and get completely sold out in a few years if not months.
"Goddess Sri Lakshmi is not a limited edition piece and the availability of the same will be for many years to come. The price however could increase on an annual basis."
The brand is on an expansion spree in India.
"We are happy being present across all Metro cities in India. In Hyderabad we are relocating our store to Taj Krishna Hotel. This new store will be our first new format store of India being inspired by the design of Jaime Hayon, a very popular Spanish designer. We launch in the first week of October," informed Lamba.
Talking abour the high point of their brand, the COO says that all their pieces are completely handmade and painstakingly created.
"Lladro have only 15 master sculptors who are associated with us from a very long time, we believe in nurturing our relation with our team. Art is all about patience and innovation, which needs self-motivation, and that's what we ensure by restricting entire production at one place.
"There is no cut copy paste strategy followed in art. From ideation, to creation everything is done by hand without any technology," said Lamba.
