The couple — who have known each other since their days on "That '70s Show"— started off as casual bedroom buddies, Kunis confessed to Howard Stern on Tuesday.
"If we just paid attention to these movies, we should know that s--t like this does not work out in real life," she explained.

The "Bad Moms" star said sparks didn't fly between the two until they reunited years after their sitcom ended, when Kutcher invited her to his housewarming warty — with the intention of setting her up with one of his friends.

"So I went over. Long story short — I didn't leave till the next morning," she recalled. "And that was the first time, ever, that I'd ever slept over when I was single … at a guy's house," she added.

The fling came as the 38-year-old actor and actress Demi Moore pulled the plug on their marriage after eight years. At the same time, Kunis was also experiencing the single life for the first time in almost a decade after splitting from Macaulay Culkin.

"We end up having a lot of talks about how this is a huge mistake, and how he needs to be single and I need to go and be single," she said.

The determined duo would even talk to each other about dating other people and would shake hands to stress they were just about "fun."

"It ended up going from just having fun to genuinely wanting," the 32-year-old said. "We lived out our movies."

Three months into their casual dating, the former co-stars — who are expecting their second child — made their relationship exclusive and welcomed daughter Wyatt in 2014. They married a year later to their own surprise.

"We started dating with the idea we were both never going to get married," she said. "A year later we were like, 'Tomorrow let's (get married).'"

Kunis confessed she always believed she wouldn't walk down the aisle — even during her long-term relationship with Culkin.

"I was like 16, I told my dad, 'Just so you know, I don't believe in marriage.' And my dad's like, 'What did I just create?" the actress told Stern.

When asked if her changed views on nuptials meant she never loved the "Home Alone" star, Kunis simply replied: "Honestly, who knows?"
