She married T-Series head honcho #BhushanKumar in 2005. But actress-filmmaker #DivyaKhoslaKumar ended up feeling like a bride all over again when she walked the ramp in an exquisite bridal creation by designer #ReynuTaandon at the #FDCIIndiaCoutureIndia2016 here on Friday.
The showcase of Taandon's 'Kamangari' line was held at the Taj Palace Hotel, where Divya sizzled on the catwalk in a small red choli and heavily embroidered lehenga with gota. The "Yaariyan" director also sported a big nose ring, maang tika and completed her look with minimal make-up.
Talking about the collection, Divya told: "Reynu's clothes are a pop of freshness... The stunning colour-combination teamed with gorgeous work and the perfect fit, makes me feel like a bride all over again."
With melodious Rajasthani numbers like "Kesariya balam" and "Mohe pi ki najariya" playing, and the runway decked up with a traditional urli (brass bowl) filled with fragrant mogra, and a recreation of a popular fort from Rajasthan -- the show left the audience mesmerised.
Models sashayed down the ramp showcasing exquisite lehengas, extravagant anarkalis and saris, in an array of bright and beautiful colours such as orange, red, gold and green.
The silhouettes reflected Rajasthan's rich heritage -- varying from handcrafted foil printing to usage of block prints on vibrant Chanderi fabric.
Taandon told: "I chose Rajasthan because I am inspired by the beauty and grandeur of Rajasthan. I wanted to remain true to my roots. 'Kamangari' means handcrafted."
Why did she choose Divya as the showstopper?
"I chose Divya because I think she would be perfect for a girl that redefines the conventional bridal fashion with all that is modern along with an imperial twist," Taandon, who has styled the likes of Bollywood personalities Manoj Bajpayee, Chitrangada Singh and Minissha Lamba, said.
Taandon's show was followed by designer duo Rimple and Harpreet Narula's collection titled Hiraeth.
