#SonamKapoor who attended the second day of #WordtoScreenMarket says authors are the true heroes of our time.
'Word to Screen Market' presented by Jio MAMI Mumbai film festival is championed by Sonam Kapoor held the third year edition this week.
Sonam who loves reading books insisted that the some of the best content comes from books, "I read a lot of books and I started shooting for 'Zoya Factor' yesterday which is also based on a book and I also bought 'Battle for Bittora' and hope will start shooting for it soon as well. I truly believe that some of the best content comes out of books and authors are the true heroes of our time.This year we have incorporated books from regional languages also which is incredible."
'Word to Screen Market' allows untold stories, also literature, to be translated in unique formats for the consumption of global audiences. The two-day event had over 200 books presented to producers in a Publishers choice list and 36 special in MAMI's recommendation.
Talking about the impact of books on the young generations Sonam said it makes her sad to see not too many people read books.
"I think its very sad that a lot of people from my generation and young generation don't read books. But we are trying to promote that from written word only do we get such amazing films. Some of the best films in bollywood and hollywood have come from books and so this is a very important market for our film industry and make the idea more popular. I hope people become more voracious readers because of that."
Sonam will be next seen with 'Rajkummar Rao and father Anil Kapoor in 'Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga'.
Directed by Shelly Chopra Dhar the film will hit theaters in 2019.
