#VarunDhawan is leaving no-stone-unturned promoting his forthcoming #SuiDhaagaMadeInIndia also starring #AnushkaSharma. The actor just unveiled the preparation and discovering a video about creating his character Mauji from the film.
Actor Varun shared the video on his social media profile. He captioned it, “Main bana mauji? kaisaaaaaa @yrf”
In the video, Varun talks about creating his character Mauji, who is fun loving and simpleton. From his clothes to hair, to the mustache, the actor takes his fans on a journey of creating his character.
He is seen saying “The look of Mauji, see the name of my character is Mauji, so I had to look like I am having Mau (Fun) in everything. It had to be a very distinct look, so I kept my hair long, for the first time.”
“Second, director of the film Sharat Katariya told me to keep the mustache. So we tried fake mustaches first, you know we tried small ones, big ones, hairy ones, even tried French beard, which looked really weird. So I decided to grow a real mustache and I really liked it…Then came the clothes, we decided on bell-bottoms, double pleated pants. And then came the half sleeves sweater on the shirt and boots. And this is how Mauji got ready.”
Sui Dhaaga is directed by Sharat Katariya and produced by Maneesh Sharma under the banner of Yash Raj Films.
The film is based on the Make in India campaign launched by the Indian government in 2014, which was aimed at promoting the country's indigenous textile industries. Dhawan plays the role of a tailor and a peon, and Anushka Sharma an embroiderer.
The movie is slated for 28th September 2018 release.
