Sui Dhaaga is a tribute to the common man of India: Varun Dhawan
#VarunDhawan says his recent successful film, #SuiDhaaga is a tribute to the common man of India.
Varun Dhawan interacted with media at the success press meet of 'Sui Dhaaga' with the film's co-star Anushka Sharma.
When asked Varun Dhawan how it felt to have the film cross 100 crores world wide and people appreciate the film so much, he said, "Sui Dhaaga was always a mixture of content and commerce and when such a film does great it feel well. And especially when common man comes to you and tells you how they related with your character it feels great. Sui Dhaaga in a way is a tribute to the common man of India. This film will always be special for me."
Varun and Anushka in the film are seen as the married couple Mauji and Mamata as a tailor and an embroidery craftswoman.
Anushka's acting has been appreciated by critics and audience alike and also been deemed as National award winning performance. When asked to comment on the same she said, "I can't comment on something like that and don't even want to think about it."
She also went on to add that she is grateful for all the appreciation. "First of all I am very grateful that the performance has been appreciated the way it has been. As actors we work in a film like this that touches the audiences heart and loved by all age groups of people. I think such a film has to do good. It is a necessity. For people to say that they didn't seen Anuskha but just Mamta in the film makes me very grateful. And to convince people of that character who is so different than me and to be appreciated for that role makes me very happy.

Indian Cricketer #ViratKohli, who is married to stunning and talented actress #AnushkaSharma just took to his social media profile and praised the entire ensemble of #SuiDhaaga- Made In India and expressed that he is proud of her love, Anushka Sharma.
Virat Kohli caught the special screening of the film, not once but twice, and went head over heel with the mind-blowing performances. Varun Dhawan shared the Sui Dhaaga Challenge of Katrina Kaif on social media. He captioned it, “#KatrinaKaif does the #suidhaagachallenge…finally thank u kat see how she does”
The makers of Sui Dhaaga came up with a unique promotional plan for the film, they kick-started the Sui Dhaaga Challenge, where you need to put the thread into the needle hole within a few seconds.
So far celebrities like Karan Johar, Ranbir Kapoor, Akshay Kumar, Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan, Madhuri Dixit Nene, Alia Bhatt and many more celebrities accepting the Sui Dhaaga Challenge.

Varun Dhawan Unveils Sab Badhiya Hai from Sui Dhaaga
#VarunDhawan is leaving no-stone-unturned for his forthcoming social drama #SuiDhaaga. The actor unveils a new song titled Sab Badhiya Hai from the film, which apparently he shot in 8 hours.

Shahrukh Khan Accepts And Win Sui Dhaaga Challenge
After #KaranJohar, #RanbirKapoor, #AkshayKumar and many more celebrities accepting the #SuiDhaaga Challenge, superstar #ShahrukhKhan breaks the code and wins the challenge, with a little trick.
The makers of Sui Dhaaga came up with a unique promotional plan for the film, they kick started the Sui Dhaaga Challenge, where you need to put the thread into the needle hole within few seconds.
Celebrities like Akshay Kumar, Alia Bhatt, Aditya Roy Kapur, Karan Johar and Ranbir Kapoor, every one took the Sui Dhaaga challenge and while some succeeded, some failed miserably.
Now Shahrukh Khan took the challenge and won it fair and square, but with slightly bigger needle and thread. The actor shared a fun video on his social media profile about the challenge. Actress #AnushkaSharma received the #SmitaPatil award for best actor said she doen't think any actor's career is complete without the contribution of writers and directors.
The actress, who is gearing up for the release of her film "Sui Dhaaga", received the Smita Patil award at the 34th edition of the Priyadarshini Academy Global Awards 2018 on Wednesday.
While addressing the media Anushka thanked all the writers and directors she credited them for playing a key role in her success journey. "I also want to thank all the writers who wrote amazing roles for me and the directors who envisioned me in those roles. I don't think any actor's career is complete without the contribution of these two people. I want to thank every supporter of mine all over the world who supported me and accepted me for who I am."
Anushka who completed 10 years in the industry made her debut opposite Shah Rukh Khan in "Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi" in 2008. She since turned a producer and released movies like 'NH10' and 'Pari'.
"It's a special day for me because I completed 10 years in the industry on this day. So receiving this award validates the choices that I made in my career. I don't come from a film background. I didn't have anyone to guide me in my journey. My parents also don't belong to this industry so they also don't know how the industry works,"
Varun and Anushka to promote and endorse the Skill India Mission
#VarunDhawan and #AnushkaSharma who are gearing up for the release of #SuiDhaaga - Made in India", have been signed on to promote and endorse the #SkillIndiaMission.
Varun as Mauji and Anushka as Mamta will next be seen essaying the roles of a tailor and an embroiderer, to salute India's entrepreneurs and skilled workforce.
Talking about the new initiative Varun in a statement said, "Prime Minister Modi has displayed incredible vision and genuine foresight in aiming to organise, skill, train and give financial support and backing to our craftsmen, artisans and similar workmen. Akshay Kumar takes on the Sui Dhaaga Challenge
#VarunDhawan on Monday nominated #AkshayKumar to complete the #SuiDhaagaChallenge.
Akshay took to twitter to complete the said #SuiDhaagaChallenge by needling a thread. He tweeted his video and captioned it as, "जिसका काम उसी को साजे और करे तो डंडा बाजे Mauji bhai @Varun_dvn here’s my attempt at the #SuiDhaagaChallenge, not as easy as it looks. I now nominate @sachin_rt"
In the minute and half video Akshay can be seen struggling to needle the thread and even jokes "it would have been easier to do a stunt of jumping from a building but I can't do this". He then nominated cricketer Sachin Tendulkar.

After Mauji And Mamta, Meet Bauji from Sui Dhaaga
Now we all have #VarunDhawan and #AnushkaSharma are playing Mauji and Mamta in the forthcoming social drama #SuiDhaagaMadeInIndia but now the makers are out with an introductory video of “Bauji” played by veteran actor #RaghubirYadav.
The official handle of Yash Raj Films just dropped a teaser introductory video of Bauji from the film, who can actually put Mauji in his place!

Everyone will connect with Mauji and Mamta's struggles says Anushka Sharma
Actress #AnushkaSharma, who is gearing up for the release of her forthcoming film #SuiDhaaga says everyone will connect to the film and characters.
Anushka Sharma interacted with media at the launch of Times Green Ganesha along with his co-actor Varun Dhawan on Tuesday.
Anushka said, the film is emotional yet funny making it a full entertainer, "I believe every individual will connect with this film because we all have experienced struggle in our lives. People will also relate with each character of the film, be it parents, husband or wife in the film. I think this film is a full on family entertainer. It's very emotional yet funny film and along with that we have tried to give strong message through the film."
'Sui Dhaaga' is aimed at promoting the country's indigenous textile industries. The makers also showed their support by asking craftsmen around the country to create the film's logo.
Talking about subject of the film, Anushka said, "Our country has produced amazing entrepreneurs over the years. I think start-up and entrepreneurship is big deal over here and we have celebrated that in the film. Our characters in this film didn't have the opportunities but they had lot of talent and the kind of struggle our characters go through to achieve their goal is truly an inspiring story."

Varun when talking about their city tour and why they are yarn bombing the city he said, "What we are doing is called yarn bombing we have gone all around out city for beautification. We are right now outside Wilson College and we also went to bandra near bandstand where we created a miniature sewing machine with Sui Dhaaga and we also went to other locations like Matunga. The thing is, Mumta and Mauji are the kind of characters who would want to make everyone's life a bit more colorful and they like to give hope to other people."

In 2015, Varun Dhawan starring Badlapur, helmed by Sriram Raghavan and Ayushmann Khurrana starring Dum Laga Ke Haisha, helmed by Sharat Katariya, both the films released 7 days apart. Both the films did well at the box-office.
And now in 2018, Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma starrer Sui Dhaaga is helmed by Sharat Katariya, and Ayushmann Khurrana starring AnadhDhun helmed by Sriram Raghavan, are releasing only 23 days apart with direction swap.
Varun Dhawan met Ayushmann Khurrana last night on a promotional event and wrote about this bizarre connection on his social media profile. Varun 's character is named Mauji is tailor in the movie, along side Anushka Sharma. While talking about preparing for the role he said in a statement, "I knew that I had a task at hand. I knew I had to master the art to convince people that I am a real 'masterji'. Darshan (the costume designer) and Noor bhai (the tailor on the sets) helped me a lot and I gave it three months to learn this skill.
As an actor, I like to get challenged to become someone else on-screen,"
