The label ‘Tahweave’ by Shweta Tantia and Priyangsu Maji once again unveiled fashion that revealed the magic of colours at Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2018. The collection called “Unchartered” inspired by the hypnotising Irish landscapes and the region’s culture evoked the romantic vibes of nature in a stylish manner.

Playing with natural, hand woven fabrics like cotton, cotton/silk, sheer silk organza with wool and the lush Bangalore silk with mercerised cotton, the designers ensured that there was a balanced rhythm in the ensembles.

To highlight the delicate beauty of the creations the embellishments were an intricate study of perfect cutwork and Kantha stitches that gave the fabric the interesting detailing touches.

Shades of maroon, grey, white and turquoise blue with checks and stripes were the prime pattern that revealed and interesting mix.
The grey trench coat inspired creation, the asymmetric skirts, the drop-waist checked maxi over shift and the bias, pleated, checks/striped dress brought the story of the collection to the forefront. Layering played a major role for the creations, while the coat dress with front and rear overlapping yokes had an interesting silhouette. Asymmetry was important for the collection as it projected a fluid and flowing look to the garments.

Closing the show was Kriti Kharbanda, star of the popular comedy ‘Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana’ who glided in an intricately woven, softly draped, jumpsuit with a sheer long shrug.

When fabrics, crafts and nature’s hues make a glamorous confluence, then the “Unchartered” collection by Shweta Tantia and Priyangsu Maji for their label ‘Tahweave’ will trace a great fashion journey.
