I will always be satisfied with Manto even if it didn't do much in India says Nawazuddin Siddiqui
#NawazuddinSiddiqui said he was disappointed with #Manto's distribution in India but he will always be happy with the film.
Nawazuddin interacted with media at the GQ Men awards on Thursday.
Manto's release in India faced a setback when many screening in major cities were canceled on opening day.
Talking about the film and if Nawaz is happy with the film's performance, he said, "I am very satisfied with the film. It has travelled all over the world and has been to many big film festivals. I will always be happy and satisfied with Manto even though much didn't happened here in India because of the screenings."

Would Do Manto Again With My Own Money - Nawazuddin Siddiqui
#NawazuddinSiddiqui starring Manto is running successfully in the theatres. And we know that actor didn’t charge maker, #NanditaDas anything for the film and now Nawaz claims that he would do #Manto all over again with his own money, if need be!
Actor Nawazuddin just took to his social media profile and shared that Manto was ahead of its time, even today and he would love to do Manto yet again, with his own money, if needed.
He wrote, “If given an opportunity, I would love to do #MANTO yet again & this time also for free, instead would pay from my pocket to make it happen; because today I realised that #MANTO is still way ahead of our time”
Manto is a biographical drama film about the famous Urdu author Saadat Hasan Manto, written and directed by Nandita Das. The film stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the title character of Indo-Pakistani, author and writer Saadat Hasan Manto. Tahir Raj Bhasin plays the 40’s Bollywood superstar Shyam Chadda.
Shyam was Manto’s friend, confidant, and inspiration for a number of stories. Rasika Dugal plays the role of Manto's wife, Safia.

The makers of Manto are up with a new sing titled Mantoiyat which is sung by Raftaar. And this song is thought-provoking and outstanding!

In the video, Nandita Das talks about creating the world of Manto, which was the most challenging and daunting task. She is seen saying, “Art Direction for a film like this is extremely important...because till you don’t transport the audience to that context and make them believe that you’re in that time (1940)...I didn’t want any aspect of the film to overshadow the story or journey with the character”
The film follows the most tumultuous four years in the life of Manto and that of the two countries he inhabits – India and Pakistan. In Bombay’s seedy-shiny film world, Manto and his stories are widely read and accepted. But as sectarian violence engulfs the nation, Manto makes the difficult choice of leaving his beloved Bombay.
In Lahore, he finds himself bereft of friends and unable to find takers for his writings. His increasing alcoholism leads him into a downward spiral. Through all of this, he continues to write prolifically, without dilution. This is the tale of two emerging nations, two faltering cities, and one man who tries to make sense of it all.

#NanditaDas, who is gearing up for the release of her forthcoming film #Manto, said Manto's story is very relevant for today's times.
Nandita was interacting with the media here during the third edition of the WCRC Idea-fest 2018 awards on Monday.
Actor-director Nandita was presented with the Most Responsible leader award. Talking about the award and her mantra in life she said, "It always feels good when you receive an award it shows you that people have appreciate and love your work. And this award is for being a responsible and i try my best to maintain social consciousness in my work. whether it is writing for a column or acting or addressing audience somewhere. This isn't for others but to give a meaning to my own life.
My upcoming film Manto this is also part of the same thought because Manto's story is very relevant for today's times. This is our way of reminding people why is it important to tell the truth. live honest, be humble and think about others."

"Genius" truly Amazing
#AnilSharma's #Genius receives appreciation on the direction and magnanimous production front. While the audiences enjoy the interesting story line, #UtkarshSharma has definitely showcased his talent and done justice to the character. From a college boy to a RAW agent, the film keeps you engrossed.
Nawazuddin Siddique was loved for his performance, as usual. The music by Himesh Reshamiya and voices by Atif and Arijit make the tracks unforgettable.

Bidita Bag freezes in cold and continues shooting for ‘Moksh To Maya’ without vanity van
The Bengali beauty #BiditaBag has been winning hearts with her performance in #NawazuddinSiddiqui starrer #BaabumoshaiBandookbaaz right from her lingos to her acting skills.
The entire movie was shot in Rajasthan in places like Khairthal, Bambora & Alwar. Since the movie was shot on live locations around the city without any premade set up, it was not an easy task to squeeze in the vanities for the actors during the movie.
Though the shoot began during the winter season, it was quite a chilly period for the actors to enact and survive the weather. The producers of ‘Moksh To Maya’ are all praises for the actors and their enthusiasm during the shoot that made it possible to wrap the movie despite the hurdles.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s Mystery girl is Italian Actress Valentina Corti
Veteran Actor #NawazuddinSiddiqui posted a photograph on Twitter with an Italian woman and captioning it, “Yeh Ladki mere ‘rome rome mein’ hai’’ – which caused all sorts of speculations and wildfire stories.
But now it has been confirmed that the woman in the picture is an Italian actress Valentina Corti, and the duo is shooting for Tannishtha Chatterjee’s yet-untitled directorial debut.
Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh confirmed the news and film on social media. He wrote, “Italian actress Valentina Corti joins the cast of Tannishtha Chatterjee's directorial debut alongside Nawazuddin Siddiqui... Produced by Eros International, Rising Star Entertainment, Ravi Walia and Pankaj Razdan...Currently being filmed in Rome”

Nawazuddin Siddiqui To Share Screen Space with Rajinikanth
Here comes an amazing news for all #NawazuddinSiddiqui fans, the actor is all set to share screen space with south Indian superstar #Rajinikanth.
Nawaz has been roped in to essay a key role in Superstar Rajinikanth's film with director Karthik Subbaraj. While confirming the news, Sun Pictures also revealed that noted actress Simran has been roped in to play the leading lady opposite Rajini in the film.

Big Relief for Sacred Games Cast – Nawazuddin, Radhika Apte And Saif Ali
The Delhi High Court on Monday said that actors cannot be held liable for dialogues that allegedly insulted former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi in the Sacred Games web series.
A bench of Justice Sanjiv Khanna and Justice Chander Shekhar wanted to know as to why the actors were made party in the case. The bench also questioned the maintainability of the plea since all the episodes are on air. The court listed the matter for July 19 for a detailed hearing on the plea.
The court was hearing a petition seeking removal of content from the web series Sacred Games on the grounds that it insulted former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.

After epic blockbuster Lust Stories and running Sacred Games, Actress #RadhikaApte is all set to chill your bones with fear. The maker of web-series unveils a spooky poster and release date on social media.
Netflix brings first Indian original horror series, Ghoul, starring Radhika Apte and Manav Kaul. It is a three episodes series, releases on August 24, 2018. The trailer for the same is all set to be unveiled on 10th July. The series is co-produced by Phantom Films, Ivanhoe and Blumhouse.
Netflix official page dropped the poster along with the release date on social media. They captioned it, “Okay, we’re officially screaming now. Ghoul, premieres August 24.”
Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap also Tweeted the poster. He wrote, “And here is announcing the next @FuhSePhantom collaboration with @NetflixIndia and @jason_blum starring @radhika_apte . Directed by Patrick Graham.”

I like to play characters which are not cliched: Nawazuddin Siddiqui
Actor #NawazuddinSiddiqui, who is gearing up for the release of the series "Sacred Games" on Netflix, he likes to play characters that are complex and not cliched.
Nawazuddin was at the 19th edition of the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards, where he bagged the Best Supporting Actor honour.
On his role in the show, Nawazuddin said: "I had great fun. I like to play such characters which are complex and not cliched. I like to play those roles which are a little different and those which we think live next to us."
Nawazuddin has played variety of characters from a old detective in Mom to a man from Mars in Carbon. The much-awaited show that Nawazuddin plays a criminal in is based on the critically acclaimed best-selling novel of the same name by author Vikram Chandra.

The mother of all battles is here, the makers of #SacredGames just dropped the trailer of web-series and it is awesome and gruesome!
The official Twitter page of Sacred Games just shared the trailer of the web-series. Their caption read, “Victory will come at a price. #SacredGames premieres 6 July”
Sacred Games is a story of betrayal, glamour and grit that’s set against the ever changing backdrop of Mumbai featuring Saif Ali Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Radhika Apte.
The series revolves around a contemptuous Mumbai city cop Sartaj Singh (Saif) who is tipped off on the location of crime lord Ganesh Gaitonde (Nawazuddin). As the lives of these two men collide, it exposes the trappings of a bigger game than the both of them.

Taapsee Pannu Slam Media for Running a Fake Story
Pink Actor #TaapseePannu is not very happy about a news article mentioning that she has refused to work with veteran actor #NawazuddinSiddiqui.
It is been reported that Taapsee Pannu has refused to be paired opposite Nawazuddin Siddiqui in director Honey Trehan directorial debut crime thriller. The reason quoted that Taapsee is not keen on getting paired with Nawaz.
The news spread like wildfire but apparently, it is not true. Taapsee Pannu just took to her social media page and slammed the portal for running fake news.
Taapsee wrote, “Irresponsible journalism at its best yet another time. Wish u have basic courtesy to contact the people concerned to know the truth before exploiting the power of your pen. #NotCool #SadStateOfAffairs”
The news-portal tried to refute the claim stating that her team member’s planted the story and she should have checked with her team before slamming the reporter.
But Taapsee is hearing non-of-it, she wrote back, “Really!!!?? Then y not mention the “source” instead of keeping it so ambiguous if u r so ‘responsible’. Will help me also to know the truth :) n if u can’t produce a proof for the same then kindly contact the actor next time before publishing such statements”
On the work front, Taapsee Pannu has her kitty filled with series of projects, such as Tadka, Soorma, Mulq, and Manmarziyaan.

#NawazuddinSiddiqui is all set to play the role of a “baddies” in forthcoming #NetflixOriginal series titled #SacredGames, unveils a new poster of his character.
The actor Nawaz took to his social media profile and released the poster. He captioned it, “Here comes the Poster of @SacredGames_TV by @NetflixIndia”
The series revolves around a contemptuous Mumbai city cop Sartaj Singh (Saif) who is tipped off on the location of crime lord Ganesh Gaitonde (Nawazuddin). As the lives of these two men collide, it exposes the trappings of a bigger game than the both of them.
The official handle of Sacred Games also released a new promo, featuring Nawaz and Saif, going toe to toe with gun blazing. They captioned it, “They play the same game. But one follows the rules of justice. The other makes his own rules”

God of Mumbai, Actor #NawazuddinSiddiqui is all set to play the role of a “baddie” in forthcoming crime thriller web-series, #SacredGames and the maker of the series drops a promo introducing Ganesh Gaitonde played by the actor!
The official social media handle of Sacred Games dropped the character promo, featuring Nawazuddin Siddiqui as Ganesh Gaitonde, who is ruling the crime world of Mumbai and believes in destiny.
Their caption read, “He leaves nothing to fate. Unless he's written it himself”
In the promo, the Nawaz’s character is seen saying, “What one’s fate has in store is written on the palm of their hand. If it’s not, that hand should know how to write it, and how to grab it”

Nawazuddin Siddiqui - Had A Great Experience Playing Manto
Veteran actor #NawazuddinSiddiqui along with #NanditaDas, Rasika Duggal, Tahir Raj Bhasin and Viacom 18’s Ajit Andhare launched the teaser of #Manto at Cannes and hosted a special online interactive session with media here in Mumbai.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who is playing the titular role in Manto, a biopic on the troubled life of writer Saadat Hasan Manto, shared his experience working on the film. He said, “I am excited about the Manto. I haven’t seen the film so I will watch it for the first time. My experience on the film was great, as I didn’t have to do a lot, because our lady Manto (Nandita Das) has done everything for us. She told us what to do and we did it”
Talking about preparing for the role, Nawaz added, “As an actor, I prepared same as every role but the actual preparation was done by Nandita Das. She had prepared for Manto for many years. About his anger, the way he walked and looked, she had done in-depth research about the poet, which helped me as an actor to portray Manto”
Manto director Nandita Das said, “Nawazuddin Siddiqui immersed into the role all the way, he is a lot like Manto. His anger, thinking, humor, arrogance and a little bit of sensitivity, a lot of things are in common in Nawaz and Manto. He immersed himself in the character very smoothly. He was so immersed in the character that he called me and told me that he won’t be able to do any other role, as he is completely involved into Manto”
Actor Rasika Duggal, who plays the role of Manto's wife Safia, also shared her experience working on the project. She said, “Definitely a very beautiful experience working on the film. It is very rare to find a project like this in your career as an actor, which I will cherish for a long time. Research on Safia was also done by Nandita. She interacted with Safia’s daughter and sister in Pakistan and got input about her story and life. So my character was scratched out very well on the script”
