The first season of the Netflix series will have nine episodes based on Anand Neelakantan's book The Rise of Sivagami, which tells the story of Mahishmati's queen Sivagami and how the city-state evolved into an empire.

The Netflix India confirmed the series on social media. It said, “You witnessed the Mahishmati Empire in all its glory. Now witness its rise. Baahubali: Before the Beginning coming soon.”

The series is based on one of India’s highest-grossing films franchise Baahubali. It will be an adaptation of “The Rise of Sivagami”, a prequel novel to the 2015 film.

Brij Mohan Amar Rahe is a comedy-crime-drama directed by Nikhil Bhat. The film stars Arjun Mathur, Nidhi Singh, Sheetal Thakur, Manav Vij, Sunny Hinduja, Vijayant Kohli and Yogendra Tikku in key roles.

Sumeet after co-writing the Netflix original "Love Per Square Foot" with Anand Tiwari and season 2 of The Viral Fever's popular series "Tripling", said he wanted to venture in feature film writing for quite some time now.

Talking about the future project he said in a statement, "I have been toying with a couple of ideas for a while now and finally have zeroed down one that I'm most kicked about. I'll start working on it this year and hopefully by next year it will make sense," 

The actor said the project could take longer then usual because he is a little "unforgiving" as far as his scripts are concerned. "But it will be a credible script to say the least. It's a story about jealousy between a father and a son, a humorous take on how competitiveness in a family can screw things up.
