The anticipation surrounding the Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer 'Bharat' seems to be growing with each passing day. And now adding to the peaking audience interest in the film, Jackie Shroff is all set to play Salman’s father in the Ali Abbas Zafar directorial.

Confirming Shroff’s addition to the film’s star cast, Ali Abbas Zafar tweeted, “Welcome to @Bharat_TheFilm @bindasbhidu :)”

Filmmaker Ali shared some candid pictures with Jackie Shroff on social media.

The story of ‘Bharat’ will span over 60 years and Salman Khan will be seen in different as per the different eras. Disha Patani is said to be playing trapeze artist in the film, while Salman will reportedly be seen performing daredevil stunts.

Director Ali Abbas Zafar announced that the Malta schedule of Bharat has wrapped and he shared a stunning photo of Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif to make the announcement. He captioned it, “Malta schedule wrapped....@Bharat_TheFilm @BeingSalmanKhan #katrinakaif.”

In the photo, Salman can be seen sporting a moustache while Katrina wears the same curly hair as seen before in photos from Bharat sets. Salman and Katrina's photo appears to be from a song sequence but no further detail has been shared yet.

Priyanka shared a heartfelt note on her social media handle about the season finale, and to her character Alex Parrish. She wrote, "As the season ends, I am saying goodbye to Alex Parrish. As you’ll see, her story will come full circle...and that is the best feeling as an actor. Bringing Alex to life has challenged me physically and emotionally, but even more significant it has (I hope) cracked the door open for female talent and women of color to play leading ladies. Salman Khan is riding a motorbike in the picture, against the backdrop of the Russian circus. Bharat is recreating the era of the late 60s for a circus sequence; international artists from across the globe will be roped in for the same.

Salman Khan will yet again treat the audience on the festive season of Eid next year with the release of Bharat. The film also includes an impressive ensemble of Katrina Kaif, Disha Patani, Tabu and Sunil Grover.

Katrina was last seen opposite Salman in 2017 blockbuster ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’. ‘Bharat’ is being directed by Ali Abbas Zafar. This is the second Eid release of Zafar and Salman after 2016 film ‘Sultan’.

Salman Khan took to Twitter to welcome Katrina on board with a post that read, “Ek sundar aur shusheel ladki jiska Naam hai Katrina Kaif …. Swagat hai aapka #Bharat ki zindagi mein …”

Desi Girl Priyanka Chopra walked out of Salman Khan’s ambitious Bharat, which is being directed by Ali Abbas Zafar.

Yesterday, Ali Abbas Zafar confirmed the news on his social media profile. He wrote a rather interesting tweet, “Yes Priyanka Chopra is no more part of @Bharat_TheFilm & and the reason is very very special, she told us in the Nick of time about her decision and we are very happy for her...Team Bharat wishes @priyankachopra loads of love & happiness for life.”

Now fans have started to ask about the female lead and speculation market is running like a live-wire. But filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar just confirmed that the female lead has not been finalized after Peecee and they will soon make the official announcement.

He wrote, “Yes yes yes...we will announce the leading lady of Bharat soon...We have been shooting Non-stop and the simultaneously preparing for international schedules...”

The reasons are still unknown as to why Priyanka Chopra opted out of Salman Khan staring film.
