While talking about the being paid their due after years of struggle lyricist and screenwriter Javed Akhtar said, "I don't want to look at it as though we have won a war, that makes it sound wrong on our part. Yes, there were struggles, the music company had a different point of view and we had a different point of you. And after discussing the matter for years government finally made a few laws that will now protect our rights.

This happened in 2012 and now after negotiating on the law with the companies, we have finally come this far in 2018. The companies on board also worked very gracefully with us. They understood that the times have changed. All the negotiations were very peaceful and mutual. We look at it as war then someone has to win and loose, and that mentality won't let us work together."

When asked if they were aware they could bring such a big change he said, "We didn't think about how big the step was or big of a change it will make we just went on doing what we thought was right. We wouldn't have been able to take that first step if we started by thinking about the end result."

When asked that the government has set some laws and the due had been paid what will happen here on out, Akhtar said, "there are still a few companies that are not a part of IPRS, which is illegal. But we don't want to go to court and fight about it. Just like with peace we spoke to other companies we will talk to them too.
We are currently negotiating with T-series, Yash Raj, they are not part of IPRS yet. They are very nice people so I don't think there will be any issues or bitterness during negotiation."

The Synchronisation royalty was paid by Saregama, Sony Music, Tips, Universal Music, Venus and Aditya Music.
