Actress #MallikaSherawat has expressed her displeasure over increasing number of rape cases in India and she has said that from the land of Gandhi, we have become land of gang rapists.
Recently, India's cabinet has approved the death penalty for rapists of girls below the age of 12 after countrywide uproar on Kathua and Unnao rape case, reacting on that development, Mallika said, "We are not lawmakers. People from bollywood can't enforce a law. We can only give an opinion and I think what's happening with women and children of this country is absolutely shameful. From the land of Gandhi, we have become land of gang rapists and I think it's the media in the country that is really a strong force today so all hopes are pinned on the media. If it's not in the media then nobody would know about these cases and I think because of pressure from media these new laws have been enforced so we are really thankful to the media for this"
"It's a relief that now at least system of the country is working towards it to control these crimes. We haven't been able to protect women and children of our country and I have been reading about such kind crimes on daily basis in news papers so, I am really happy that justice will be served to poor girl"
Talking about sudhir Mishra's 'Daas Dev’, Mallika said, "I have seen the trailer of the movie. I am fan of Sudhir Mishra films and I love him as a director. It's a romantic and emotional subject therefore, I am looking forward to watch performances of all actors in the film."
Mallika Sherawat is known for her glamorous image and she came back to India after long period of time so talking about her upcoming projects, Mallika said, "There is one international show of which I have acquired legal rights to remake in India same way '24' series has been made in India so, I will be making announcement for that very soon. It an Emmy award winning show."
