Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor starrer “Batti Gul Meter Chalu” is helmed by Shree Narayan Singh and tackles the issue of “Electricity” shortage and corruption in India.

Talking about the film progress Shahid said, “70 percent of the film is complete and some 30 percent is left. Next week we start shooting again and I believe by May the shooting will be complete.”

Shahid Kapoor also expressed his opinion on raging controversy of Kathua and Unnao Rape, which according to actor deserves “Harsh” punishment.

Talking about the incident, Shahid said, “People have started to talk about it, which is a good thing. It’s not the first time something like this has happened, this has been happening for a long time, a lot of bad things are happening. And it is good that today it is spoken about. There are positives and negatives to so much media and so much attention. One of the biggest positive is, when something wrong like this happens, it is taken up and people cannot ignore it, you can’t just walk away and that is very good and I am very happy that its’ been spoken about.”
Talking about Capital Punishment for Rape, Shahid said, “I think a very harsh punishment is required. I don’t think I am qualified to say that Capital punishment should be there or not, but my feeling is that hard punishment is necessary to create a certain mindset in people, who are thinking about doing it. There has to be some fear in their minds and hearts. It is important to put something very strong as an example for them.”

The Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Award 2018 was graced by Entire Bollywood Brigade, which includes people like Karan Johar, Shilpa Shetty, Kartik Aryan, Aditi Rao Hydari, Kriti Sanon, Rajkummar Rao and many more.
