Veteran Actor #AnupamKher is making headlines once again for his outstanding craft, the actor is nominated for a BAFTA award and new stills of his political drama, Accidental Prime Minister are out!
Anupam Kher is up for a Best Supporting Actor in the British Academy Television Awards this year, for his role in the BBC TV movie The Boy With The Topknot.
The official Twitter Handle of BAFTA made the announcement. It said, “Nominated for Supporting Actor - Adrian Dunbar - Line of Duty, Anupam Kher - The Boy with The Topknot, Brían F. O’Byrne - Little Boy Blue, Jimmi Simpson - USS Callister (Black Mirror) #BAFTATV.”
The actor also replied to BAFTA, he wrote, “Thank you @BAFTA for the nomination. I feel honoured and humbled. #TheBoyWithTheTopKnot.”
Anupam Kher’s competition includes Adrian Dunbar, Brian F O'Byrne and Jimmi Simpson.
Apart from his overseas stint, Anupam Kher is also busy with “The Accidental Prime Minister” which is an upcoming biographical political film written by Hansal Mehta.
The film stars Anupam Kher as Manmohan Singh, the economist and politician who served as the Prime Minister of India from 2004 to 2014 under the United Progressive Alliance. It is directed by Vijay Gutte.
The film is based on the 2014 memoir of the same name by Sanjaya Baru. The film is scheduled to release in somewhere of the winter season of 2018.
