Indian weightlifter Mirabai Chanu gets better and better on the grandest of the stages! She set a new Commonwealth Games Record with 86 kilo lift in the snatch and 110 kilos in Clean and Jerk to clinch India’s first Gold medal in Common Wealth Games 2018.
Actors like Suniel Shetty and Anil Kapoor along with cricketer Virender Sehwag and Suresh Raina praised the athlete on her Gold.
Suniel Shetty took to his social media account and shared, “The girl of gold! Star of the moment! Amazing feat #MirabaiChanu! What a day for India at @GC2018 #CWG2018 #ShareTheDream”
Actor Anil Kapoor also praised Mirabai on social media. He wrote, “Congratulations #MirabaiChanu on the Gold!! The whole nation is proud of you! #CWG18 #GC2018Weightlifting.”
Indian Cricketer Virender Sehwag also praised her. He wrote, “Every lift from her broke a CWG record. Nari Shakti at its best. Super proud of #MirabaiChanu for winning the first Gold for India. #CommonwealthGames2018.”
