Filmmaker #ShoojtSircar during a promotional interview said Varun had to unlearn a lot of things when preparing for #October.
Shoojit who is busy promoting his upcoming film 'October' while talking about his decision to cast Varun and his preparation journey,.director said, "Everyone has to work hard, we work for years on a script similarly actors have to prepare too. The hard work he had to do was unlearn a lot of things. the first was, to calm him down, that was a big task. The second was to express less. Less is more for me and to third was to know the character's job, so it was training in the hotel industry. I really wanted people to know what goes behind in a hotel industry."
The debutante actress Banita who grew up in Wales, was asking about her first interaction with Bollywood, she said. "My mother is an avid fan, and all my interaction with Bollywood was through her as a child. When I grew up and little and of independent and could choose what I wanted to watch I diverted to British and American movies because of the language barrier.
Back then I never really thought that I would work in Bollywood industry but when this happened I had to take it up. I would have been stupid for me to say no to this film because Shoojit is behind it."
The actress said language was one of the biggest challenges she faced while shooting for the film. "There is one big one that I am not allowed to speak about but I think the language was definitely a challenge, and we worked really hard for it. We were really stubborn that we didn't want anyone else dubbing me.
We have given so much to this performance that we didn't want it to be taken away by voice. Dialogue delivery was difficult, but it wasn't even the Hindi that was the worst part. I think it was my British accent while speaking in English that caused a problem."
The film produced by Ronnie Lahiri and Sheel Kumar stars Varun Dhawan and Banita Sandhu in lead roles.
'October' written by Juhi Chaturvedi and presented under Rising Sun Films banner is scheduled to release on April 13.
