Kinnars from all over India came together for jal-abhishek at Lingaraja temple in Bhubaneshwar

Mahamandleshwar maa Meera Parida from the east India akhada along with 400 Kinnars from India came together at the #Lingarajatemple in Bhubaneshwar to offer prayers for the victims of the Kerala floods.

#instamag-kinnars-from-all-over-india-came-together-for-jal-abhishek-at-lingaraja-temple-in-bhubaneshwarThe entire event was organized by the makers of Hansa-Ek Sanyog, the NGO 'Sakha and the East India Akhada, the movie is produced by Suresh Sharma and is directed by #SantoshKashyap and #DhirajVerma. The movie is largely based on the third gender community (Kinnars).

The procession began from Cuttack Mahanadi river and ended at the Lingaraja temple where over 400 Kinnars along with the producer Suresh Sharma performed jal-abhishek at the Shivling in the temple.

The Kinnars along with Meera Parida prayed for all the victims of the Kerala floods and also for the success and the entire cast and crew of the movie, as the movie showcases the plight that the Kinnars face on daily basis in order to earn a livelihood for themselves.

The Kinnars participated in this 35kms long procession from the Cuttack Mahanadi river to the Lingaraja temple. They were all dressed in a similar Saree  and went dancing, singing throughout the procession. Such huge gathering of the Kinnar community was seen for the first time in Bhubaneshwar.

The producer has also promised to soon put up tents for food collection drive for the Kerala relief funds.
