Here’s what celebrites had to says about Disney’s Aladin show -
Shilpa Shetty – I am here especially for my son Viaan. He has already seen this show in London and he really liked it at that time. We organize very few musicals so when it happens I really feel happy. I think introducing young kids to fantasy world and stories is really beautiful way of inspiring them with imagination.
Ayushmann Khurrana – Me and Tahira, we both belong to theatre background and I have done musicals in live so we are really excited about ‘Aladdin’. My son’s favorite character in ‘Aladin’ is gene and my daughter’s favorite character is Jasmine so we want them to expose to musicals as well.
Sidharth Roy Kapur – I am really excited to be here at Disney’s ‘Aladin’. It’s an incredible show. I have seen it on Broadway and I am sure that makers of ‘Aladin’ must have done just as good as if not a better job than what I saw in New York. Disney is known to create incredible theatrical productions and the fact that this time they have partnered with BookMyShow.com adds bit of magic and zing to it so I want to wish all the best to cast and crew of ‘Aladin’.
Vidya Balan – Last time, we saw ‘Beuaty and the Beast’ in Mumbai and that show was really good. I have seen ‘Aladin’ in Broadway and I know makers of the show have worked really hard for it and it is going to be an incredible show.
Leading Indian entertainment ticketing portal BookMyShow is producing the show. The content will be re-imagined to make it locally relevant for India, while maintaining the essence of the Broadway show.
Shruti Sharma directs, with choreography by Shampa Gopikrishna and Bertwin D’Souza and music by Dhruv Ghanekar. The cast includes Siddharth Menon, Taaruk Raina, Kira Narayanan, Mantra and Vikrant Chaturvedi.
Disney India had previously staged “Beauty and the Beast” in India in 2015-16.
