‘Son Chiriya’ is going to be special film which will have impact on audience says Bhumi Pednekar

Bhumi Pednekar was interacting with media at 20th Beti FLO GR8 Awards 2018 on Monday in Mumbai.

Talking about her upcoming projects, Bhumi said, “We have released first look of mine from my upcoming film ‘Son Chiriya’. As of now, I can’t reveal too many details about the film but I can say that it’s a special film in short span of my career. We have worked really hard for this film. This film has really good director and cast. It’s a different kind of film and I am sure this film will have the same amount of impact like my previous films.”

Asifa Bano, an 8 year old girl abducted, raped and murdered in Rasana village near Kathua, Jammu and Kashmir in January 2018. Since then there has been nationwide uproar on this case, reacting on that horrific incident, Bhumi said, “The kind of circumstances our country is going through, I feel scare thinking about future generation of our country. We are moving towards animalistic and beast like mentality which is really heartbreaking.  I feel justice must be served to Aisfa and many other victims like her who has experienced shameful act like this so, that it doesn’t happen again. I am an optimistic person and I feel there will be stricter laws and punishment to zero down incidents like these. I think our agency should set a fine example so that people will think twice before committing such crimes.”

Bhumi Pedneakar was felicitated at 20th Beti FLO GR8 Awards 2018, sharing her feeling on receiving the award, Bhumi said, “I feel really happy when people appreciate your work. Year 2017 has been really successful year for me.  My two films (Toilet – Ek Prem Katha and Shubh Mangal Savdhan) released last year and both of them received appreciation from audience and it had major impact on them.”

‘Son Chiriya’ revolves around Chambal dacoits and is set in the 1970s. Sushant Singh Rajput and Bhumi Pednekar play the character of dacoits in the film.

The film, which is being helmed by director Abhishek Choubey also stars Manoj Bajpayee, Ranvir Shorey and Ashutosh Rana in prominent roles.

It is slated to release in 2018.
