The trailer shows Anil Kapoor, the taxi driver encouraging his daughter 'Lata' to sing a old Lata Mangeshkar classic song as she is going to perform for talent hunt show. When teased for being fat, Lata looses her confidence. Anil Kapoor plans on making a album to promote her singing talent. To get the money needed he kidnaps the singer Baby (Aishwarya) with the help of friend Rajkummar Rao.

Anil Kapoor co-stars with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Rajkummar Rao in Fanney Khan. The film is reportedly the remake of Dutch film Everybody's Famous and talks about the shades of a father-daughter relationship.
Produced by Rakeysh Ompraksh Mehra, Fanney Khan is set to hit screens on August 3.
