Filmmaker and producer Karan Johar released the song on his social media profile. He wrote, “Come on! It’s time to do the #Zingaat! Song out now, Contest to start soon! The song is adapted and rehashed from the original film Sairaat, the maker has kept the title same, but this new song is whole lot peppier and upbeat than the original and with smashing dance routine from Ishaan and Janhvi, the song will climb the chartbuster in no time!
The song is crooned and composed by talented duo Ajay-Atul, and written by Amitabh Bhattacharya.
Dhadak, the story is based on the 2016 Marathi language film Sairat, however, this version will be set in Rajasthan. This love story explores how the protagonists deal with issues like differences between castes and honor killings.
The film is directed by Shashank Khaitan, produced by Dharma Productions and Zee Studios and stars Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter in lead roles. It is scheduled to be released on 20 July 2018.
