Feel privileged to screen Love Sonia at UN: Tabrez Noorani

#LoveSonia directed by #TabrezNoorani will be screen at the UN on the International Day of the Girl Child.

The film about sex trafficking, will be screened at UN in New York on October 11, which is also its first screening in US.

Addressing the special honour director Noorani in a statement said, "It's an honour for us to screen our film 'Love Sonia' for the UN. I feel privileged and I am looking forward to the screening on the October 11 in New York,"

An official statement by the makers revealed the screening will be hosted by the UN Office for Drugs and Crime and Indian anti-trafficking organisation, Apne Aap Women Worldwide.  

"Art is a powerful advocacy tool to raise awareness and we hope this beautifully acted thoughtful film will move people to take action against the scourge of sex trafficking," said Simone Monasebian, Director of the UN Office for Drugs and Crime.

The screening will be followed by a reception to honour the "Love Sonia" team. Apne Aap who was highly involved in the film's story and shooting process will give The Last Girl award to an undisclosed recipient to be revealed soon.

'Love Sonia' starred a huge star cast from Mrunal Thakur, Manoj Bajpayee, Richa Chadha, Rajkummar Rao, Sai Tamhankar, Adil Hussain, Anupam Kher, Demi Moore, Mark Duplass, Freida Pinto and Riya Sisodiya.

The film released on 14th September in India.
