Superstar #AamirKhan and #HrithikRoshan have expressed their gratitude and happiness, as the Constitutional bench has overthrown the Article 377, which means same-sex relationships between consenting adults is legal.
Aamir Khan has raised the issue during his television stint, Satyameva Jayate, and now when the decision is finally out. The “Thugs Of Hindostan” actor took to his social media profile and wrote, “We thank the Supreme Court for its decision to strike down article 377. It is a historic day for people who believe in equal rights for all. The judiciary has done its duty, and now we must do ours”
A five-judge Constitutional bench of the Supreme Court today legalised same-sex relations between consenting adults. The apex court was hearing a clutch of petitions challenging criminalisation of homosexuality.
Calling the SC verdict a historical judgment, Karan Johar wrote on Twitter, “Historical judgment!!!! So proud today! Decriminalising homosexuality and abolishing #Section377 is a huge thumbs up for humanity and equal rights! The country gets its oxygen back!”
Super 30 Actor Hrithik Roshan also shared his sentiments on social media. He wrote, “Which are the other remnants still keeping our society in the dark ages? #Section377Verdict #evolution”
Filmmaker Prakash Jha also wrote, “377 Salutes to Humanity and Compassion! Love & Peace to Us All!! Jai Ho!!”
