#Blame_It_On_Yashraj, a comical portrayal of a family caught up in the whirlwind of their daughter's wedding in the play, will have its 100th show on Sunday.
Writer and director of the play Bharat Dabholkar says it is a record that an originally written English play will have a 100th show.
The play is a story of a Punjabi-Bengali family, which gets caught up in the whirlwind of a wedding, when their darling daughter decides to marry a Muslim boy. The scenes and emotions in the play have a Bollywood style to them with an ensemble cast of well known stage and TV artistes like Ananth Mahadevan, Anchal Sabharaval, Gaurav Sharma and Palash Dutta.
"100th show of an originally written English play is sort of a record in India and to achieve this through a continuous non-stop run is a great achievement and however niche, we thank the audiences for this, which is not enough," Dabholkar, who is also the person behind the famous Amul ads and billboards told.
An AGP World Production, "Blame It On Yashraj" has the music score by Louis Bank.
Ashvin Gidwani, Managing Director and Producer at AGP World, says that since the play received a "hearty response" in India, he decided to take the play to other places like Australia and Hong Kong and Dubai.
"After the hearty response to 'Blame It On Yashraj' that we received within India, I decided to take this on a global platform. The reaction was overwhelming and here we are today celebrating our success over 100 shows across 4 continents," he said.
