While talking about sallu ki shaadi, and and preparation for the film, Kashyap in an interview said, "Firstly I'm a big fan of Salman Khan. I have been a fan of his since 'Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya' with Kajol. It is amazing to see him on screen I tried to follow his mannerism and aura as an actor but I have never copied him or anything in the movie. In the film I am playing a different character. But while playing this character i kept Salman's heroism and action in mind as reference."

When asked if he always wanted to become an actor and how he ended up doing a film he said, "When I was a kid my father used to work as a fashion photographer in the industry. Since childhood I used to travel with him on sets, for shoots, and also assist him in the work.
Academically I was more interested in non curricular activities then science and maths. I was more inclined towards creativity. After finishing12th, I completed my graduation in film making and VFX from MAX. During that time I directed 2 short films and acted in those. After that I started preparing myself as an actor. I did acting course with Roshan taneja. I've also learn martial arts and dancing."

When asked about how much he had to struggle and if he thinks not being a star kid created more challenges, he said, "I feel that the competition in the industry is so tough that you have to have knowledge about things like action dancing martial arts and learning all these things have helped me a lot.

There is a lot of struggle in the industry there's hardcore competition going on. I do think nepotism does help but if you have it in you as an actor then the industry definitely accept you and can give you a chance."

Kashyap whose first film 'Luv U Family' was released in June, said that technically 'Sallu Ki Shaadi' was his first film. “I am passionate about film-making and 'Sallu Ki Shaadi' was technically my first film. For some reasons my second film 'Luv U Family' was released first."

Kashyap said he is enjoying the process of becoming an actor and is thankful for the release of his films. "Even if people get the chance to work in a film, it is not easy to get the second one. As far as nepotism is concerned, if they get a big film they rise to fame but only their work and talent will define the place in the industry. I am actually enjoying the process and the struggle of becoming an actor. It feels great to experience working in different conditions and different budget films.”

Most importantly, I am thankful, and feel lucky that my films are being released. I think of it as an achievement because many times it happens that the film is ready, but it is never released for the public to see." Kashyap added further.

Talking about his future plans, the actor said, “I will be travelling to Ranchi, to start shooting for a film with Anupam Kher. I can’t disclose much about the film, but it is quite a crucial role. I am in talks for another project, but I will start talking about it in future, it’s too soon to say anything right now.”
Kashyap was last seen alongside Arshin Mehta, Zeenat Aman and Kiran Kumar in the comedy-drama Sallu Ki Shaadi, which was released on 8th December 2017.
