Ranveer Singh in Prep Mode for 83 – Kabir Khan
Filmmaker #KabirKhan shared pictures of #RanveerSingh and cricketing legend, #SachinTendulkar posing at the Lord’s Cricket Ground and confirmed that prep-mode has started for the upcoming sports biopic 83.
Kabir Khan captioned the picture, “Sachin was 9 years old when he saw on television Kapil’s Devils win the World Cup in 1983 right here at this ground. That win inspired him to want to play for India.

Ranveer looks every bit a dashing dude sporting a red blazer. The film, 83, revolves around India’s unexpected World Cup win and how Kapil was one of its main architects.
Apart from 83, actor Ranveer Singh is busy with Simmba, Gully Boy and recently announced Takht.

Sachin Tendulkar praises Diljit Dosanjh starrer Soorma
#SachinTendulkar said #Soorma is a real story portrayed beautifully.
The cricket legend took to his twitter page to share his experience after watching the film on wednesday night.
Tendulkar tweeted, "A real story portrayed beautifully on reel. @flickersingh's determination to play for India is truly commendable, enjoyed watching #Soorma a lot."
He also gave his best wishes for the film's release, "My best wishes to the entire cast and crew. @imangadbedi @diljitdosanjh @taapsee"
Soorma tells the story of the international hockey player Sandeep Singh, who was paralyzed and used a wheelchair for two years after an accidental gunshot injured him in 2006. Under his captaincy, India won the 2009 Sultan Azlan Shah Cup and went on to qualify for the 2012 Olympics.
Directed by Shaad Ali, the film stars Diljit Dosanjh as Sandeep Singh, Tapsee Pannu as Harpreet and Angad Bedi as Bikramjeet Singh.

Sachin Tendulkar meets Bee Gees star Barry Gibb
Legendary cricketer #Sachin_Tendulkar got nostalgic about his past when he got to meet Bee Gees star #Barry_Gibb.
Sachin took to Twitter on Sunday to share a photograph of himself with Gibb, in which the two can be seen posing together while in formals.
"I was only four years old when ‘Stayin' alive' released. Barry Gibb your songs have always struck a chord with me," Sachin captioned the image.
Gibb is the last remaining member of Bee Gees, which he formed with his brothers Robin and Maurice in the 1960s. They gave hit songs like "Stayin' alive", "How deep is your love" and "Tragedy".

Didn't know the importance of nutrition when I started playing: Sachin
Cricket icon #Sachin_Tendulkar says that he had no knowledge that how important is nutrition when he started playing and only realised when he lost a game because of lack of nutritional intake.
"In my younger days when I first started playing cricket, I did not know the importance of nutrition. Cricket being my first love, I was always rushing to play the game. I wasn't aware what a complete and nutritious diet meant, because of my lack of knowledge on the subject back then," Sachin told.
"It was the biggest lesson of my life when one fine day, I was playing a match and around lunch time, I lost the game due to lack of nutritional intake... I made up my mind to never let this happen again," added the master blaster, who is is seen urging the millenials to start the day right in a new TV commercial for the brand Quaker Oats+Milk.

'Sachin' rakes in over Rs 27 cr in opening weekend
Legendary cricketer #Sachin_Tendulkar's documentary drama film #SachinABillionDreams has collected Rs 27.85 crore in its opening weekend at the box office, according to makers.
The film released on May 26 in Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu and English.
"‘Sachin: A Billion Dreams' records exceptional collections for a bio-drama, mints Rs 27.85 crore (all languages) in its opening weekend," read a statement issued on behalf of the film's makers.
The film, despite being in competition with previously released big entertainers like "Baahubali 2: The Conclusion", "Half Girlfriend" and "Hindi Medium", and Hollywood film "Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar's Revenge", has managed to make its presence felt at the box office despite its unique genre, said trade expert Taran Adarsh.

Indian cricket team to watch 'Sachin...' together
The Indian cricket team will be coming together to watch the special screening of legendary cricketer #Sachin_Tendulkar's biography #SachinABillionDreams.
To be held on Wednesday, the special screening will be taking place at a theatre in Versova here, confirmed producer Ravi Bhagchandka in a statement.
Earlier this month, Tendulkar also had a special screening for the Indian armed forces.
"Sachin: A Billion Dreams", traces his journey as he ruled the pitch for 24 years carrying the hopes and aspirations of a billion people and smashed records to attain his iconic position in cricket.
'Sachin: A Billion Dreams' declared tax-free in Odisha
The upcoming biopic on cricket legend and Bharat Ratna #Sachin_Tendulkar -- #SachinABillionDreams -- has been declared tax-free by the Odisha government.
State Finance Minister Sashi Bhushan Behera on Tuesday said the entertainment tax on the film has been waived.
"Sachin: A Billion Dreams" is based on the life of Sachin Tendulkar and it is scheduled to release on May 26.
The movie, a biographical drama, captures Tendulkar's personal journey from a young boy to a cricketing icon.
It is written and directed by James Erskine and produced by Ravi Bhagchandka and Carnival Motion Pictures under 200 NotOut Productions.

Would very much like to be 'Swasth Bharat' ambassador: Sachin Tendulkar
Master blaster #Sachin_Tendulkar, who met Prime Minister #Narendra_Modi here on Friday, says that apart from the idea of 'Swachh Bharat', the message of 'Swasth Bharat' needs to be widely promoted in the country. He feels it will be the country's "real strength".
"I would want everyone to play some or the other sport. It is extremely important for us to have Swachh Bharat, of which I am one of the ambassadors, but along with that... With the young population that we have, we also need to talk about Swasth Bharat. That is equally important," Sachin told here after his meeting with Modi.
Would he take on a role as 'Swasth Bharat' ambassador?
"Very much... 110 per cent. I feel healthy India is going to be our real strength, because with (a majority of) young population, we need to be healthy. Young and unhealthy population can be dangerous. We need to address that for sure, without any doubt," said the 44-year-old, looking fit as a fiddle.
'Sachin...' to premiere with screening for Indian armed forces
Movie premieres in India are often glitzy with Bollywood glamour, but legendary cricketer #Sachin_Tendulkar has decided to premiere his biographical film #SachinABillionDreams by screening it for an audience full of people from the Indian armed forces.
The screening will be held in the capital on Saturday.
"We are premiering it here. The first special screening here would be for the Indian armed forces. It is our way to say a big 'thank you' for all things they do for us... For all the sacrifices they make for us," Tendulkar told here.

Sachin Tendulkar receives Modi's blessings for film
Legendary cricketer #Sachin_Tendulkar met Prime Minister #Narendra_Modi and received his blessings for his upcoming biographical film #SachinABillionDreams.
Tendulkar shared a photograph on Twitter on Friday in which he is seen shaking hands with Modi.
"Briefed our honourable PM Narendra Modi about the film 'Sachin: A Billion Dreams' and received his blessings," Sachin captioned the image.
"Sachin: A Billion Dreams", directed by James Erskine, is about Tendulkar's personal journey from a young boy to a cricketing icon.
Even Modi twitted on twitter and congratulated him for the film.
The film has already been declared tax-free in Kerala and Chhattisgarh.
