As a businesswoman, I am very sure about 'Veere Di wedding': Ekta Kapoor
Filmmaker and producer #EktaKapoor said that as a businesswomen she is sure of the #VeereDiWedding success.
Ekta Kapoor along side producers Reha Kapoor and star of the film, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhaskar, and Shikha Talsania were present at the music launch of the film on Tuesday.
Ekta who is very particular about the scripts she chooses to work on was asked how did she feel about the film and its possible success, she said, "As a businesswoman, I am very sure about this film. I love the script I picked it up at the when I was at the lowest in my career. I trust the producers. We have 4 hot steller actresses in it and I have always believed that when I have a film which is not so successful on paper it has become super successful even before release.
I was told Dirty picture will be a flop. they said who can I have Vidya Balan playing an item number girl and that film got sold before and the same way the movie has almost covered its costs and we are looking at a clean run. So I am a happy producer."
Since the release of the film's trailer, the filmmakers began a hashtag campaign on social media saying Veere the Weddign is not a Chick Flick. '#IAmNotAChickFlick.
When asked the reason behind using the hashtag producer Rhea Kapoor said, "The #IAmNotAChickFlick came up because everywhere we went we were told, 'it's fun looks like a chick flick' and all I could think about was why is 'Charlie's Angels' a chick flick and 'Rush hour' an action comedy. Why is my entire gender in one genre? All films that have women init are in one genre and 'Veere Di Wedding' is so much more than one thing. It's more than a comedy and a drama. It's life and fun, don't think it can be out in a box. that's what it is a revolt against labels, #IAmNotAChickFlick ."
When talking about what is special about the film lead by four female actors, Swara Bhaskar, "It has been 105 years to our industry and first time mainstream Bollywood is making such an Hindi film in which has the life story of four girls who are friends and nobody is falling in love with the same guy, and that is what is special about the film."
I have chosen the A-lister heroines this time: Kareena Kapoor Khan
Actress and mother Kareena says with #VeereDiWedding she chose to work with A-lister heroines this time.
Kareena along with co stars, Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhaskar, and Shikha Talsania and producers, Ekta Kapoor and Reha Kapoor was present at the music launch of the film on Tuesday,
Kareena Kapoor Khan who has worked opposite A lister actors like Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan when asked how different was the expreience this time with the film she said, "I have chosen the A-lister heroines this time."
The 'Udta Punjab' actress while talking about feminism said she is as proud to be called Saif wife as she is of herself. "I believe in equality, I wouldn't say I am a feminist but I would say I am a woman but above all, I am a human being. I am as proud to be a known as Saif Ali Khan's wife as I am to be Kareena Kapoor."
When asked which is the funniest moment in the film that she loved to shoot, Kareena reminisced throwing Sumeet Vyas of the moon prop scene which can be seen in the film's trailer.She said, "I have never had the opportunity to throw a hero off the moon so thank you, scriptwriters, for giving me this chance. I think it is going to go down in history."
Know to not shy away from the media when it comes to talking about her personal life is said to be playing the role of a commitment phobic when asked what drove her to chose such a different character she said, "The thing that made me take up this role was that I think for a commercial mainstream who has always worked with other mainstream actors like Shah Rukh or Salman for me it was very different to be a part of a film with four girls. The story is what I got completely obsessed with and I thought it was really cool I think who better than this entire team, to put this film together. This was the reason I wanted to do this film, and as far as Kalindi (her character name) is concerned, she is a really cool character and there is a reason why she is commitment phobic which we will see in the film."
Karan Johar Unveils Majhya Mana Featuring Madhuri Dixit

The soothing number is crooned and composed by talented Rohan Pradhan and it is written by Tejas Prabha Vijay Deoskar. The track is refreshing Marathi number which gives us little sneak-peek into the story line and introduces Renuka Sahane in the film.

The movie revolves around Madhuri’s character Madhura Sane, a housewife who plays multiple roles, namely of a wife, a mother and a daughter-in-law but what's makes the trailer interesting is Madhura's newfound interest - checking off to-do's from the bucket list of a teenager named Sai, who appears to have donated her heart to Madhura.
Priyanka Chopra - We Need To Care For Rohingya Refugees
Actor #PriyankaChopra recently visited Rohingya refugee camps in Bangladesh’s Cox's Bazar as a global #UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador for Child Rights. The actress took to her social media profile and urged everyone to support and care for the refugee kids.
Priyanka Chopra shared pictures of her visit to Bangladesh and shared a heartfelt message. She wrote, “I’m in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh today for a field visit with UNICEF, to one of the largest refugee camps in the world. In the second half of 2017, the world saw horrific images of ethnic cleansing from the Rakhine State of Myanmar (Burma). This violence drove nearly 700,000 Rohingya across the border into Bangladesh - 60% are children!”

Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhaskar, Shikha Talsania Starrer Veere Di Wedding is a story about four female friends and their struggle in life, a proper women empowerment story about women.
Talking about India living in contradiction, where we talks about values and modernism and yet at the same time, women constantly need to remind about her life and needs. Swara’s reply is epic, she said, “The contradiction will always be there, you talk about any society or within us, so it will reflect in our movies as well. I am saying this every single day, it has become my Nara (Slogan) but I think it is important to say this, it has been 105 years since our film Industry came to existence, and this is the first time we are making a film in main-stream cinema about four female friends, it is their life story and none is falling in love with the same guy. Ekta Kapoor, who is also the co-producer of the film added that film has already covered its cost and they are looking at a clean run.
Talking about the film, Ekta said, “Actually I love this film. I trust the producer and I have four stellar leading women in the film. I have always picked a script which was not a hit on paper but on release became super successful. Like when I made the Dirty picture, I was told this film is a flop. How can you make a film with Vidya Balan playing a heroine that too be an item number girl? When the film released my mom hugged me and told me this is an outstanding film. The movie has cleared most of its cost and we’re looking a great clean run. I think I am a happy producer”

Soorma is a biopic of Indian hockey captain Sandeep Singh who had made headlines for his miraculous comeback after an unfortunate freak accident. Diljit will be seen stepping into the shoes of Sandeep Singh.
Soorma tells the story of the international hockey player Sandeep Singh, played by Diljit Dosanjh, who was paralyzed and used a wheelchair for two years after an accidental gun-shot injured him in 2006.
Fighting against all odds, Sandeep got back on his feet and made a comeback to international hockey in 2008. India won the 2009 Sultan Azlan Shah Cup under his captaincy and went on to qualify for the 2012 Olympics.

Indian American businessman Neil Mathew approached by top Bollywood director
#NeilMathew is a well-established entrepreneur who kick-started his career with a luxury concierge business. The young businessman has expressed his love for Bollywood movies in several interviews and was recently approached to be a part of a movie that is also said to star actors #SidharthMalohtra and #ShraddhaKapoor.
When asked if he took the role, he stated “I’m honored to have been approached to be a part of a Bollywood movie. Unfortunately, I am tied up with few business commitments. But who knows what the future holds?
Neil has proven to be quite versatile with his choices of work and we think it’s safe to say that he is the “jack of all trades”. From a luxury concierge business to building properties to providing high-end real estate services, Mathew has tried his hand in several business ventures and has been successful in all of them.
He says “Well, for me, investing my time, energy and money into multiple businesses is exciting. It builds my confidence while making me become more versatile. Being an entrepreneur means you are willing to take risks.”
So how does he do it? “I strive to step outside my comfort zone and embrace new challenges. Opportunities are there; you just need to knock”, he answers with a smile.
Peanut Butter wins the title of ‘Best Editor’, ‘Best Actress’ and ‘Best Film’ (producer) at IFTDA

I am not single: Katy Perry
Singer #KatyPerry, who is reportedly dating Orlando Bloom again, admitted that she is not single during the finale of #AmericanIdol.
During Tuesday’s finale of “American Idol”, the singer, 33, revealed she is no longer on the market when she hilariously professed her love to special guest, “Bachelorette” star Becca Kufrin. “Can I be in the running?”
Perry jokingly asked as she got down on her knees and gave Kufrin a kiss on her hand. “Yes, I’ll give you all my roses,” the reality star responded as Perry remarked, “I’m not single but I still like you.”
Eat safe in summer
Food tends to spoil more quickly during the summer. It is important to pay extra attention to your #food and look for unusual odour and mould before consuming it, say experts.
Indrayani Pawar, team leader, dietitian team, Hinduja Healthcare Surgical and Varsha Gorey, clinical nutritionist, Apollo Hospitals, Navi Mumbai, suggest some tips:
* Which foods spoil quickly?
Foods with high moisture content and protein based foods are easy targets for micro-organisms. Milk and milk products, raw and cooked meats and vegetables are more prone to spoilage compared to dry food items. Foods that are high in sugar, or salt or with high fat or oil content in contrast don't spoil quickly because these act as preservative agents.
Storage becomes important here - low temperatures serve to preserve these food items.One must ensure food is not kept outside for long periods of time.
* How to identify bad food?
Spoilt food has a telling smell. Quite often, food items that look fine on the outside have mould or fungus growing inside which people don't notice. It is always better to check the food for any unusual odours and open the food item to check for unusual signs, such as stringy threadlike growth. Dairy based Indian sweets are more likely to spoil quickly compared to dry fruit and nuts based, pulse and flour based or dry coconut based sweets.
* Eating well during the summer
Seasonal fruits and vegetables are always the best option in their respective seasons. In order to quench thirst in summer, fresh fruits and vegetables should be consumed (as they are also good in antioxidants, vitamins and minerals). Smoothies with curds, or simple buttermilk are better options than fizzy or cold drinks. Curd will help to soothe the stomach by providing probiotics and easy to digest proteins.

Actor #HrithikRoshan says he is a fan of Indo-American singer and YouTube sensation #VidyaIyer, famously known as #VidyaVox. Hrithik on Tuesday shared a photograph of himself along with Vidya.
"Ladies and gentlemen, Vidya Vox is in the house! My house! What do I say, I'm such a fan. Thank you for the music Vidya Vox. Was wonderful meeting you and Shankar (Tucker)," he wrote alongside the image.
An overwhelmed Vidya said she was on cloud nine after meeting the "Bang Bang!" actor.
"When dreams come true! Hrithik you are the best and I cannot believe I got hang with you! Still on cloud nine!" she wrote.
Vidya is known for mixing western pop, electronic dance music, and Indian classical music.
She launched her YouTube channel in 2015 with mashups of Western pop hits and music from her native India, Vidya has amassed over over 400 million views, and her channel has accumulated over 4.2 million subscribers.
Barack and Michelle Obama to make TV and films for Netflix
#BarackObama and #MichelleObama are teaming up with #Netflix to produce films and TV shows.
Netflix say the former US President and First Lady have "entered into a multi-year agreement" with the service.
It says the "films and series" will "potentially" include "scripted series, unscripted series, docu-series, documentaries and features."
"Barack and I have always believed in the power of storytelling to inspire us," said Michelle Obama.
Exact details of programming have yet to be announced.
'Orange is the New Barack' and other content the Obamas could produce
The couple have created Higher Ground Productions to produce the content to be aired on Netflix.
"One of the simple joys of our time in public service was getting to meet so many fascinating people from all walks of life, and to help them share their experiences with a wider audience," said Mr Obama.
"That's why Michelle and I are so excited to partner with Netflix - we hope to cultivate and curate the talented, inspiring, creative voices who are able to promote greater empathy and understanding between peoples, and help them share their stories with the entire world."

'Incredibly proud'
When rumours began to circulate that the Obamas were going to team up with Netflix earlier this year, The New York Times said one possible show idea was for Mr Obama to moderate debates on issues such as health care, climate change and immigration.
But the paper said there were no plans to use the shows to attack conservative critics or Donald Trump.
"Barack and Michelle Obama are among the world's most respected and highly-recognised public figures and are uniquely positioned to discover and highlight stories of people who make a difference in their communities and strive to change the world for the better," said Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos.
"We are incredibly proud they have chosen to make Netflix the home for their formidable storytelling abilities."

Six Indian Female Naval officers circumnavigating the entire globe and returning home has thespian #AmitabhBachchan filled with pride!
Six Female Naval Officers team took off on an expedition named 'Navika Sagar Parikrama', which started on September 10, 2017, with Lieutenant Commander Vartika Joshi leading her team of five naval officers including Pratibha Jamwal, Aishwarya Boddapati, Patarapalli Swathi, Vijaya Devi and Payal Gupta.
The Team circumnavigated the world in 254 days and their boat “INSV Tarini” has landed at Mandovi in Goa. This is the first ever circumnavigation of the globe by an all-women Indian crew.
Praising the Indian officers, Amitabh Bachchan tweeted the picture of entire female officers’ crew and wrote, “CONGRATULATIONS...!! Filled with pride...the Indian Women's team circumnavigate the globe!! This is no mean feat...thank you the daughters of INDIA...you have made INDIA look the greatest! SALUTE!”

After successful 102 Not Out, Actor Amitabh Bachchan is currently busy wrapping his first ever outing with Aamir Khan in Yash Raj Films, Thugs Of Hindostan.
The upcoming action-adventure film is written and directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya. It is based on Philip Meadows Taylor's 1839 novel Confessions of a Thug, and also starring Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Shaikh in the lead.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui Unveils New Poster from Sacred Games
#NawazuddinSiddiqui is all set to play the role of a “baddies” in forthcoming #NetflixOriginal series titled #SacredGames, unveils a new poster of his character.
The actor Nawaz took to his social media profile and released the poster. He captioned it, “Here comes the Poster of @SacredGames_TV by @NetflixIndia”
The series revolves around a contemptuous Mumbai city cop Sartaj Singh (Saif) who is tipped off on the location of crime lord Ganesh Gaitonde (Nawazuddin). As the lives of these two men collide, it exposes the trappings of a bigger game than the both of them.
The official handle of Sacred Games also released a new promo, featuring Nawaz and Saif, going toe to toe with gun blazing. They captioned it, “They play the same game. But one follows the rules of justice. The other makes his own rules”
Sacred Games is based on Vikram Chandra's 2006 thriller novel Sacred Games. The series will be produced in partnership with Phantom Films. All eight hour-long episodes are to be directed by Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane. The show is one of the seven Netflix Indian Originals in production.
The series also stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Radhika Apte, Surveen Chawla, Rajshri Deshpande and Anupriya Goenka in lead roles. The show will be released on July 6, 2018.
