Students and faculty members of the institute spun the charkha to pay a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. 

More than 2,500 students and faculty members took training and spun the charkha for over 60 days at their college campus here. 

The thread spun from this activity was used to create an 8x8 feet installation of Mahatma Gandhi which was unveiled by Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Kalraj Mishra at Khadi's flagship store in Connaught Place here. 

Taapsee made her acting debut with the 2010 Telugu film "Jhummandi Naadam" and ventured into Bollywood in 2013 "Chashme Baddoor".

Asked if she finds any difference between the two industries, Taapsee told: "Nothing. Apart from the language, I don't feel any difference because I have had good or bad experiences in both the industries."

The actress will soon be seen sharing screen space with actor Rana Daggubati in the upcoming film "Ghazi". The submarine-based war film is directed by debutant Sankalp.

The wax statue of the actor, who has featured in hit films like "Dabangg", "Happy New Year" and "Jodhaa Akbar", was uncovered by Minister of State for Home (Urban) Deepak Kesarkar. 

Sunil Kandalloor, the sculptor and Managing Director of the Sunil's Celebrity Wax Museum, made Sonu's wax statue in the duration of three months.

Organised and curated by National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) on behalf of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the festival is a cinematic presentation of short films of not more than three minutes' duration, dedicated to the Swachh Bharat Mission initiative.

"I never lost my innocence, I think that's why the audience warmed up to me. I was always the friendly girl next-door. The tag of a successful star was actually a stamp of approval from the audience who loved me for being a normal girl just like the girls in every middle class family," she said.

Asha shared a healthy rapport with all her co-stars. 

"They were all my favourites. I did the maximum number of films with Dharmendra, Joy Mukherjee, Jeetendra, Sunil Dutt, Rajesh Khanna and Shammi Kapoor whom I called Shammi Chacha. I played pranks on them.

"Once I hid Sunil Dutt saab's chappals in a chair during a shooting at a studio. He had to go home barefoot. Years later, they found the chappals hidden in the chair. Such was my rapport with my heroes that they all regarded me as their buddies, and not a potential girlfriend."

She worked with all the major male stars except Dilip Kumar. 

"Some producer went and told Dilip Saab that I didn't want to work with him. Can you imagine any sane heroine saying that? I was dying to work with Dilip saab. But it never happened. But I did a film each with the other two superstars from the Dilip-Raj-Dev trio. With Dev Anand saab, I did 'Mahal' which was not so successful. With Raj Kapoor saab, I did 'Chor Mandali' which never got released."

Gandhi's birth anniversary, on October 2, is celebrated as International Day of Non-Violence all over the world.

"A lot of writers and directors have realised that my films appeal to children as well. Hence, when they write a story, they ensure they bring in some children connect. Even in my forthcoming release 'Remo', there's an important role for a kid," Sivakarthikeyan told.

"I really want to work in a children's film. I would love to act alongside children in a full-length role," he said.

In "Remo", to release on October 7, Sivakarthikeyan will be seen in the guise of a nurse. The film has been directed by debutant Bakkiyaraj Kannan.

"I will not work with any Pakistani actors in my upcoming film 'Not a Prostitute' or in my future projects also. I was planning to cast Pakistani actress Mawra Hocane as the leading lady of my film 'Not a Prostitute'. But now after the Uri attack and India's surgical attack reply, I strongly feel I should support my country and the soldiers fighting for our nation," Jawkar told.

Mawra last acted in the film "Sanam Teri Kasam" and was famous for the song "Tu Khinch Meri Photo".

Director/Producer Jawkar made his directorial debut with "Missing on a Weekend" starring actor Pawan Malhotra. Based on the escort industry, "Not a Prostitute", to be made under the banner of Red Bulb studios, has also been written by him.

Actor S. Kanagaraj essays the role of Mahatma Gandhi, while Anupam has played the role of a politician who dreams of ushering in honest governance in the country. 

The film is scheduled to release on January 30, 2017, the 69th death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. He was assassinated in 1948 by Nathuram Godse.

Mrs India Earth pageant celebrates the spirit of womanhood and gives a platform to married women. 

The winner of the three-day long beauty pageant was announced at a hotel in Dwarka here on Friday. The first and second runners-up were Paris Keswani and Roshini Hassan respectively, read a statement. 

The beauty pageant follows a motto of 'Beauty with Cause'. The event gave every contestant selected environmental tasks, and over 15,000 saplings were planted in the country and abroad this year.
